What’s he talking about? What entrapment?

Now if he wants to talk about eliminating this Orwellian law requiring banks to snitch on us when we spend our own cash, I’m listening.

I'm with Meagan McArdle on this point: I think we should have more oversight, investigation, and detailed surveillance of our elected officials entrusted with National Security even on a State level. We do no less with military personnel, up to and including a "morality" clause.

Many CEOs and Presidents of large corporations have to agree to such a contract stipulation. Why shouldn't our "public servants" expect to be scrutinized at least as much as the rest of us?

And Ron Paul standing up for him puts him under the microscope, as far as I'm concerned.

Entrapment? Sure, the chick went to his house, put a gun to his head, and dragged him off to a brothel. I’m really crying a river for this POS.

If this dude were a Bush operative, he’d be worse than Satan and the media would be killing themselves to connect GW to it.

One thing that Ron Paul doesn’t address....you can do anything you want....as long as you are willing to take the responsibility for what you do and the big thing.......don’t get caught. People have been doing this since the begining of time....big surprise huh? We play dumb, go about our business and pretend it doesn’t happen. People we look up to say this type of behavior is wrong.....but.....we find out later that they are doing the same thing they talk against. WOW....what a surprise.

Somebody wanted Spitzer to go down....and go down he did.

You are correct on both counts: Spitzer was not entrapped (though he may have been wiretapped illegally - I don’t know the specifics), and repealing this Orwellian law is a great idea.

Ron Paul: "Spitzer was brought down because he legally withdrew cash from a bank — not because he committed a crime. This should prompt us to reassess and hopefully reverse this trend of pervasive government intrusion in our private lives."

You: "Now if he wants to talk about eliminating this Orwellian law requiring banks to snitch on us when we spend our own cash, I’m listening."

Now I'm confused. That's exactly what he IS talking about, isn't it?

The banking transaction reporting laws were the result of banks gleely taking money from drug smugglers and cleaning it up for them.

Miami in particular was a mess. It was actually the killing of bystanders in the streets that put the pressure on the govt. Up until then not many were paying attn.
