I have looked at all local sources I can find, and no one is saying for certain that it was a tornado. If we did have one, it wasn’t bad, relatively speaking; I mean, like those in Tennessee a few weeks ago.
We have thousands and thousands of tall pines here in Atlanta. In a tornado, they are almost as deadly as cruise missiles. No pines down at my Atlanta estate.
Also, I cannot confirm serious injuries as reported above. I did read that the fifth floor of a building collapsed, but that report was sketchy. Just hope for the best and praise Jesus that it wasn’t worse.

Atlanta is a pretty spread out place.

NWS doesn’t officially declare a tornado until a damage survey in the following days.

You can have incredibly powerful downdrafts that do a lot of damage - but the media will report them as tornadoes and never correct later.

However there was quite strong rotation on radar on this storm over Atlanta.

Very glad to hear no trees down where you are. Appreciate the first hand reports. So it looks like whatever hit - it was narrowly focused near the CNN bldg....and the Georgia Dome? Assume both of them are in S.East Atlanta?

Local TV not reporting any of the damage or injuries yet???? That is odd unless their power is out.
