We already tried that and Al Capone made millions.

Most states peg it at 0.01 or 0.02 for underage drivers since they are not allowed ANY drinks. This is to account for meds and error.

I think it should be either 0.02 or 0.10. Anything in between is just a ‘teaser’ to make people into criminals.

This might constitute command influence.

In NY the limit is .08. But your right, two pints will put me dangerously close. However, making the limit 0 will only put more photos in the paper.

That's the problem. Nobody knows the new sneaky laws.

It's actually 0.05 for slightly lower fines and penalties. But they still take your license. A buddy of mine hit a checkpoint in NYC with a 0.06 (had 2-3 pints), lost thousands of dollars and his license for 3 months.

More money won’t fix the drunk driving problem

I agree in general about more money not helping much, but NOT for our military forces. We need to realocate (not more) funds to solve this problem for them...solutions that fo NOT include public shaming for them and their families.

If the shaming were inflicted upon conviction I would agree with you. Shaming people due to suspicion (such as arrest, before adjudication) is not in line with the spirit or letter of american jurisprudence.

Words fail. I suppose I could quote Ayn Rand at this point, but it is becoming tiresome.

Isn't it wonderful how they sneaked it in so nobody knows about it until the handcuffs are on?

BTW, my friend spent 2 nights in NYC jail waiting to get booked next to all the gangbangers. He said that was far worse than the money and license lost.

command influence

You could be right. It could be construed as a commander signaling that he thinks someone is guilty, and that he wants a significant punishment.

If he waited to publish until after the legal/non-judicial/appeal proceedings were completed, then it probably would not be.

Interesting. I didn’t know you could demote someone to another corps. Learn something new everyday.

I don't remember exactly how, but somehow I got snagged with the duty of being bailiff at his courtmartial. To this day I'm not quite sure how since I had nothing to do with JAG *although* the major was from the HQ Co in my battalion. It was...interesting.
