Naaaaaaaaaahhh, Ben Bernanke will probably recommend bailing them out by rewriting the terms of their debt, claiming their plight would be an unsustainable blow to our economy.
Well, if they had taken a minute to think, ignoring the dollar-signs dancing in their heads, they would have said to themselves, "Women in Black? Vagina Monologues? Who are these 'Women in Black' and what is this play,'Vagina Monologues?' and they would have done just a wee bit of investigation.
How in the name of all that is Holy could the people running the Rape Crisis service think that a play which has a scene in it depicting (and celebrating) the lesbian rape of a teenage girl would be something that they would want their organization to be associated with?
Good God! How insane could they be?!
Regarding my earlier comment that they should have done a little investigating... this link would have been a good start.
I really have no sympathy for them. If they had listened to the people who warned them in advance, and said "No thanks," and walked away from the whole project, I might have some sympathy. But they didn't. Sitetest is right - they made their own deal with the devil, so to speak, and the devil got his due.
Those peace freak ladies - a real nice bunch of people < /barf>
Heck, even the music director was pissed that they got blind sided. He was out side several times and every time he adamantly said he had nothing to do with WIB and CP. This was also said over a smoke break with some FReepers.

Sorry, any organization who produces “The Vagina Monlogues” in an effort to raise money deserves all they get and more.
The producers of VM license the right for an organization to put it on. By license agreement, a rape crisis center is to get 90% of the proceeds. That is how RCIS got involved. RCIS doesn’t have much control over it other than saying 'yes' or 'no' to accepting the proceeds.
I agree that VM is a nation wide scam on all women, but our taxes are not being properly allocated, especially in Maryland.
[Mr] T
WIB = Women In Black
Black is much more thinning than the Cindy Sheehan blender diet.
"Vagina Monologues" is a title that should raise a question in anybody's mind. How any rape crisis center could consider that this play is appropriate for them to be involved with is beyond me.
VM's peddlers have found a way to "legitimize" their disgusting propaganda, and the rape crisis centers are willing partners, for the money.
They sold out their honorable name (and cause) for tainted money.
Lol. It's probably not a coincidence. "We hate men. Do our thighs look fat?"
Glad to see someone call out WIM and the Pink Pukes.
As for
HERE is the RCIS of Carroll County’s web site if you want to contribute.
Sorry, FRiend, I would never contribute money to a group that supported the vile “Vagina Monologues”.
Im sorry, they have only themselves to blame. I hope they take a hard, painful hit, and suffer for a good long while, and then are able to come back. The pain will have, one hopes, taught them a valuable lesson: dont deal with scum.

I agree.
RCIS was blind-sided.

How could they possibly not know what the “Vaginal Monologues” is?
The Vaginal Monologues are not the issue. I’m sure that the RCIS knew what it was about. I believe they thought it would empower women. They did not know, however, who or what Code Pink and Women in Black were about. Those groups are the reasons that GoE and FReepers (along with several other groups and unaffiliated citizens were out that evening. It wasn’t until we got there and the people in charge talked to us that they realized they had been duped. The organizers were intelligent well meaning people... just uninformed.
