Radical Islam Is Growing in the US: Where’s the American Anger? by Thomas D. Segel

It is very difficult to understand why Americans are not enraged at the thought of any radical Islamic movement, particularly in the United States. But, being unconcerned seems to be an understatement, for Islam is rapidly expanding in this country and there is already evidence that from evening prayer to the teachings of Islamic schools the tone is anti-American and anti-Christian.

We have already seen the growth of the Muslim faith in Europe. Even in England there are already calls for the country to adopt the edicts of Islamic Law.

Most have not taken the time to even learn what Islamic or Sharia Law would mean, if it became embedded in our society.

For men, radical Islam means a ban on listening to music, watching movies, television or videos. There would be a ban on celebrating any non-Muslim holiday. All people with non-Islamic names would be required to adopt an Islamic name. All men and boys would be required to have traditional haircuts and when able, they must grow beards. Prayers at mosques must be attended five times daily. They are banned from having birds and dogs. No kite flying is allowed. Anyone found with objectionable literature can be executed. No hand clapping is allowed at sporting events. The use of the Internet is banned accept by government permission. Non-Muslims must where distinctive identifying badges.

For women, all of the above apply, except for beards. In addition women are banned from working outside the home, except for selected female doctors. Women cannot leave the home unless accompanied by a male relative or husband. They cannot drive a car or deal with shopkeepers. Male doctors cannot treat them. Women must where undecorated clothing that covers them from head to foot.

A woman can be whipped if her ankles show in public. She is banned from shaking hands, laughing loudly, wearing high heeled shoes, playing sports, speaking on radio or TV, riding a bicycle or motorcycle and must not wear perfume. The woman’s clothing cannot resemble a man’s clothes. Their shoes cannot make a sound when they walk. They cannot talk to men other than family and when they do talk it must be in a very low voice. They must not look at strangers.

For a woman, the breaking of any of these bans can result in punishment. For example, in Saudi Arabia a woman found to have nail polish on her fingers, had the fingertips cut off. More severe infractions can result in a death sentence.

Granted, we are addressing the rules of radical Islam. But from where did it originate and why haven’t the so-called moderate or peaceful Muslims done something to stop these extremes? But, why be concerned. This could never happen in America. Right!?

For those who think there should be no concern about the rapid expansion of the Islamic faith in the United States, consider the following:

In 1960 we had 20 mosques in the United States. By 1994 that number had grown to 962 and in 2000 there were 1,209. Today an estimated 2,300 mosques, plus storefronts, meeting rooms and student centers are spread across the country. These mosques and centers are used as a form of political and social mobilization, under the cloak of religion.

More than 90% of Muslim leaders say they should be involved in the political process and it should be noted they are increasingly assuming positions within the public arena.

For some strange reason, when viewing the growth of Islam in the United States, Americans are about as complacent as they are relative to most political activities.

Though reported on back in 2002 that “Every time you fill up your tank you may be helping to finance an Islamic mosque in America” and that “Some of the largest mosques and Islamic Centers in America are funded by the royal government of Saudi Arabia, which gets most of its revenue from oil exports”, we have still continued to ignore the fact that we are facing a serious problem.

Our government keeps telling us that Saudi Arabia is our friend. This flies in the face of undisputed facts including that 15 of the 19 hijackers who crashed aircraft into New York and Washington DC were Saudi citizens. It also ignores the fact that the Saudi government continues to finance the advancement of “Wahhabism”, one of the most violent and fundamentalist strains of Islam and that most Saudi citizens adhere to this anti-American sect.

In the past 33 years the Saudi government has poured more than $87 billion into expanding the Muslim faith in America. There are an estimated 6 million Muslims in the United States today and many of them were converts from Christianity or had no prior religious preference. It is estimated that up to 90% of the converts are African-American.

While 64% of Saudis have an unfavorable view of the United States, 57% of the black Muslims in America look upon this country as an immoral society. A full 70% of our “American” black Muslims believe the United States brought about the attacks of 9/11.

This is not random speculation. Homeland Security has conducted an undercover survey of mosques and Islamic schools across the United States. It has found that 3 out of 4 mosques preach anti west extremism, widespread radicalism and all things anti American.

Undercover counterterrorism agents who speak Arabic and understand the culture have conducted reconnaissance at some 2,300 mosques and centers in every state of the union. A recent Freedom House study concluded that “the vast majority are inciting insurrection and jihad through sermons by Saudi-trained imams and anti-Western literature, videos and textbooks.”

However, when members of the media, or political candidates bring up the subject of this growing threat, they are branded as practicing racial profiling, anti-Muslim or unpatriotic. Government officials keep telling everyone that the Muslim world is friendly, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary. The majority in Congress force the nation into Arab oil servitude, by refusing to allow serious drilling in our own country and spending more time trying to make the enemy out of “Big Oil”, instead of Middle Eastern threats.

All of this will continue to unfold, from the American advancement of Islam to the flow of more Middle Eastern money to advance terrorism...and all because Americans spend their time being angry at our own politicians and have little or no concern about an every increasing threat being imported from abroad.

Maybe we lost the war a long time ago. Islamist populations are growing at an alarming rate all over the globe and the world does very little to stop the cancerous growth. Think France where 20% of the population is Muslim, for example.

They just did that study - 3 our of 4 Mosques in the U.S. are preaching extremism.

For some reason, I am having problems linking things on my email and have to get hubby to troubleshoot, but there are some great videos you can access on YouTube OR even Palestinian Media Watch. Very, very scary......

I also read a book awhile back, “Infiltration” and that was very disconcerting.

Now now. We must be tolerant and politically correct. It’s a religion of peace

Did you read the book, “Infiltration?”

That book was creepy. It brought up all the lawsuits being brought against the airlines and other corporations whenever we “profile” or do anything that the Muslims think is offensive. The companies, including the airlines, have more often than not CAVED. I don’t think people are worried about being branded an Islamophobe, it’s just that people are very scared of having their pants sued off!

Another good reason for us to keep our amendments intact. Of course, if enough of them got into Congress, and so on, they could have our Constitution amended and that’s what I think they plan to do. Look up what’s happened in Hamtramck, MI.

The nation we HAD is worth it, NOT the one we HAVE.

Unfortunately, I am afraid that we are going to have to be taken to our collective knees before we will stand and fight. We may not survive, but some of us will die with our boots on, with pride in what we had fought for.

I once raised Dobermans. They would attack on command, or if you threatened me in any way. Now I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He will not hurt you, until or unless he is convinced that you mean to harm me, then, he would be willing to fight to his death to protect me.

Too bad our world isn’t as simple, but just maybe, maybe.... we need to see daily carnage and horror played out in our own streets, and feel, and see, and fear our own destruction, before we all get off of our collective a$$es and fight back..... with more than just words.

Bush Jr. has poured Islam into our homeland. His train-wreck legacy will include the largest influx of Muslims in U.S. history.

And Mr. Segel’s solution is???

Not a whole lot of respect for the Constitution on this thread. I thought someone had to break a law to be prosecuted?

“They just did that study - 3 our of 4 Mosques in the U.S. are preaching extremism.”

Where I’m from they haven’t needed to “infiltrate”. The Roman Catholic bishop and Catholic Charities moved them in wholesale and his priests now urge on Catholic politicians, like our own mayor, to threaten the Free Speech rights of anyone who speaks out against Mohammedanism and its pedophile prophet. The one bright light is that apparently the mayor was spoken to by someone with more earthly authority than the bishop and when informed of the criminal penalties for a conspiracy to deprive individuals of their constitutional rights, he seems to have shut up, at least for now.

“Bush Jr. has poured Islam into our homeland. His train-wreck legacy will include the largest influx of Muslims in U.S. history.”

People on the right are concerned that Obama may be a Mohammedan. Maybe he is. I must say, however, that Bush gives more indications of being one than Obama does.

You are absolutely right...and the “conservative” response is to nominate a liberal for president.

This conservative won't be a part of it. ;-)

“Not a whole lot of respect for the Constitution on this thread. I thought someone had to break a law to be prosecuted?”

Your point is well taken.

But - as no less than a Supreme Court Justice once pointed out - the Constitution is NOT a suicide pact.

The Constitution was designed to protect men who accepted its precepts and principles. But should a document such as the Constitution protect those who do not?

This is the conondrum we face.

We can choose to extend Constitutional protection to those who will - if given the power - will overthrow that very creed (that offered them protection) and replace it with a government and culture that is anathema to everything we (who respect the Constitution) hold dear. And, by so doing, we can lower our guard and risk the collapse of our Constitution, our culture, our nation.

Or we can face one of the harshest and most unpleasant realities of the modern-day world: that not all men are created equal, and not all are deserving of Constitutional protection solely because of an evil cult which dwels inside of them. And further, just as we took action to quell Nazism during World War II, we can (we must?) take pre-emptive action to remove from our midst those who embrace such a cult and culture as diametrically opposed to ours, as is Islam.

If we are unwilling even to consider this, we face the same fate as the [former] Christians of Western Europe.

Perhaps what I’ve written is blashphemy to those who hold the Constitution dear. So be it. As that other famous document says, “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. Will Islam - if it ever gains the power to do so - grant us as much?

- John

Americans are too busy watching TV and other important endeavors to have time to worry about that unimportant stuff.

Thanks, that can't be reposted enough.

We only need look at the situation in EUrabia to see how they wish to play it out.

From the article:

Undercover counterterrorism agents who speak Arabic and understand the culture have conducted reconnaissance at some 2,300 mosques and centers in every state of the union. A recent Freedom House study concluded that “the vast majority are inciting insurrection and jihad through sermons by Saudi-trained imams and anti-Western literature, videos and textbooks.”

Sheesh, individuals who understand their so-called "religion," culture and nuances in language are often ignored even here on FReep...

... so it is worth repeating. ;oP
