Now when you google... What do you think you get? That’s right. This thread!

Yep, that's how quickly the Google spider caches these things; this thread is now what you see when you search for the original thread:

GOOGLE - we have to fix our souls site:freerepublic.com
But they've intentionally scrubbed the original transcript from their database.

Right - they don't want people to see the full transcript of her remarks at UCLA.

The cache is still there.

Its possible that they adjusted their search of it to make it harder to find but one thing to consider is that recently updated pages rank higher. A new page can rank high but then drop off unless other pages continue to link to it.

Except the video and other transcripts are still listed...

Right, but my full transcript, which used to be the #1 hit at Google, is no longer there - not even if you direct Google to search only at Free Republic:

GOOGLE - we have to fix our souls site:freerepublic.com

The cache is still there.

As you point out, that file is still in their cache database, but they've removed it from their search database.

Its possible that they adjusted their search of it to make it harder to find but one thing to consider is that recently updated pages rank higher. A new page can rank high but then drop off unless other pages continue to link to it.

No, you can't see it, even if you require Google to search only at Free Republic:

GOOGLE - we have to fix our souls site:freerepublic.com
Again, they've deliberately removed it from their search database.

Your search - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1974690 - did not match any documents.

OK, it’s been several days now. When I click your third link, your post http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1972093/posts is the first on the list, and this one is the second.

Do you still think google is censoring political speech?

Do you still think google is censoring political speech?

I've spent a lot of time thinking about what happened.

Within about a day of posting this thread, my transcript had re-appeared at Google.

My best guess is that originally a pro-Obama employee at Google had gone in and removed the link to my transcript from their database.

Then when this current thread appeared, either:

1) His supervisor found out that he had deleted the link and ordered him to restore it, or

2) Because of this very thread, the Google spiders automatically re-seeded the database with the link to the transcript.

If #2 is the correct answer, then the Google employee who removed the link might not even know that the link has been re-seeded into the database.

You know, now that I think about it, there could be a third possibility: That a pro-Hillary employee at Google heard that the link had been removed, and she went in and restored it to the database.

But I'm convinced that the original removal of the link from the database was not a random act of Mother Nature.

Is it not possible that the primary search server you use went down for schedule maintenance, and you then defaulted to an old cache which did not include the link. After the maintenance was over, and the server running, you then got the up to date search info?

It just seems like such a stretch to think that any one at google cares in the least what we here at FR post about.

I further think this is much more likely of a scenario since google is not one all mighty search engine. It has lots of servers all over the world. To try and scrub one single entry from the entire system would probable be more work than it is worth.

You do seem absolutely convinced that there is a conspiracy against you and your post. I doubt I'll talk you out of that position.

I have thought about that, and while it is a possibility, I think that it's a very slim possibility.

I'm convinced that someone intentionally removed the link from their database.

But can I prove that? No, of course not.
