Former NJ gov's split from wife drags on

They've bickered over whether she knew he was gay, whose tell-all book would sell better, whether a poster of a nude man hanging over his new lover's bed had to come down before she'd allow their 6-year-old to visit.

Divorce has been exceptionally bitter for former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey and his wife, Dina Matos McGreevey. Unless they can resolve the custody and money issues that have arisen since their acrimonious parting, the state's estranged former first couple is heading for a May trial.

Celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder, whose list of clients includes exes of Mike Tyson and Liz Taylor, doubts that the former governor and his wife will follow the script of the 95 percent of divorcing spouses who settle their cases before trial.

"She is a betrayed spouse, but worse," said Felder, who is not involved in the McGreevey case. "He turned away from her for a member of his own sex; it was even more insulting because she was made a public fool. She feels as if she was used and this is payback time."

After the breakup, he wrote a tell-all book, then went on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and acknowledged having a gay tryst while his wife was in the hospital giving birth to their daughter...

McGreevey, who is studying to be an Episcopal priest, wants to keep his daughter for overnight visits on a school night and ...

I want to know why there was never any legal issues over his hiring his lover. How could there be nothing that was against the law? If he used state cars to go to turnpike rest stops to have gay times then why hasn’t he been charged with something? I find it hard to believe this corrupt state couldn’t get Gay Jim on anything. Its just disgraceful. Just what does our former gay governor have on the this corrupt state & its politicians?

This is a different lover , I believe.

That Homeland Security Chief had no experience, no training...not even an American. This was just after 9-11.

He could have given that lover a less sensitive state job ?

Former NJ gov's split from wife drags on

So does the headline writer hope that readers will get a subliminal mental picture of McGreevey in drag after reading his or her handiwork, or what?

I think that enough is enough in this state. I bet Garden State Equality Group demands a rest stop named for McGreevey.

The man you are referring to is Golan Cipel,an Israeli citizen. I still find it hard to understand how McGreevey is going to be a Episcopal priest. It also irks me that he has a job teaching ethics, law and leadership at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.

The media continued the lies that he was just a victim because he was gay...

The media left out : “ no requisite security clearance to allowing briefing by the Feds...”

Last I knew he was. I try hard not to think of that SOB because I still am so mad he is walking around free. I am so angry that his troopers drove him to the rest stops & knew just what was going on. They ought to be fired too.

I am sure there are many in Trenton that kept their mouths shut to McGreevey & his bs. He even gave Garden State Equality Group an office so I've been told. I am not sure if it is true but I don't doubt it.

I feel bad for his wife & I wouldn't want him around my child. IMHO McGreevey is a sick SOB who should have been tarred & feathered & run of of the state. You could say I really dislike that man. lol

Dems knew he was gay long before he came out.

I have a cousin who is a Dem activist. He told me 6 months before McGreevy resigned. I said “No Way!”. I was still shocked when he resigned.

Democrats would knowingly elect a necrophiliac if he promised to raise taxes.

When will these two pathetic creatures finally go away once and for all? It is obvious that neither of them care in the least for their daughter who will have to grow up with a light in the loafers father and a money grubbing mother as role models.

The governor is a low-life. It’s too bad he has this much custody.
