None of the Amero crowd ever bothers to explain why Canada and Mexico with their relatively high-valued currencies would want to give up their sovereignty just to save the American dollar. And anyway, Canada is a very wealthy country in its own right.

Any imaginary value to the U.S. of annexing Mexico would be canceled by the costs of its extreme poverty. There's just no benefit! Why would anyone want it?

This is looney-tunes foolishness and anyone who buys it should feel ashamed for his ignorance and gullibility.

Mexico has something like the 7th largest GDP. The rich apparently control the government and are not in a very sharing mood, which is why they like to encourage the poor to go to “El Norte.”

I agree, however, that the idea of annexing and embracing Mexico, with all the attendent social chaos and destruction to our culture is nightmarish. The only good thing would be that we could move the new border fence 1500 miles further south and have a lot less of it to build.
