LEWISTON, Me. — Hillary Clinton isn’t pulling her punches today, and she’s ripped.
Clinton doesn’t think a temporary suspension fits the crime by MSNBC’s David Shuster, who commented this week that the Clinton campaign had “pimped out” 27-year old Chelsea Clinton by having her try to recruit Democratic Party super delegates to support her mother.
Sen. Clinton’s letter to Steve Capus, president of NBC News, pretty much says it all:
Dear Mr. Capus,
Thank you for your call yesterday. I wanted to send you this note to convey the depth of my feeling about David Shuster’s comments.
I know that I am a public figure and that my daughter is playing a public role in my campaign. I am accustomed to criticism, certainly from MSNBC. I know that it goes with the territory.
However, I became Chelsea’s mother long before I ran for any office and I will always be a mom first and a public official second.
Nothing justifies the kind of debasing language that David Shuster used and no temporary suspension or half-hearted apology is sufficient.
I would urge you to look at the pattern of behavior on your network that seems to repeatedly lead to this sort of degrading language.
There’s a lot at stake for our country in this election. Surely, you can do your jobs as journalists and commentators and still keep the discourse civil and appropriate.

There’s nothing like using the power of your position to remove those who dare be critical of you.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! We KNOW who these people are! They can never, under any circumstances, be allowed back in the White House!
Imagine if a Republican, or even President Bush, had taken this attitude towards a media member? Oh, the histrionics about the ‘chill’ over free speech.
Compare this to everything that’s been said about the Bush family the last 10 years, much of which was far worse.
The every day usage of the word ‘pimp’ has made it lose it’s negative meaning, and I would expect 27 year old reporter may not understand that. Youth an immaturity is obvious to us oldsters.
Clintoon is overreacting, but anything to destrat from the real issue: what a disaster her prsedancy would be.
This is a leftist criticizing another leftist. There is little room for compassion or forgiveness in the Clinton family, especially if there is a tiny bit of the ring of truth in the questionable comment. Today we want to destroy people for what they say!

Schuster should shove Doug from Upland’s movie in her face
Shuster’s infraction does not rise to Fosterizing levels. This is not about secrets.
Is Chelsea a politician or not? Don’t put her on the stage and have her shleppin’ for votes if you don’t want her treated like politicians are treated regularly.
So a no-name reporter makes a comment about the Clintons and she wants him fired, yet her husband had a right to keep his job after lying to his cabinet, lying to the American people, and lying under oath in a Federal Court. I’d have thrown in lying to her as well, but we all know she has know about his philandering for years and has allowed it to go on. As well, she said nothing to a woman in one of her campaign audiences, calling President Bush “the bastard.” She just stood there and smirked.
I won’t be surprised if Shuster gets fired. This is obviously much worse than Don Imus’ offense, since in this case it was Hillary who was offended. The point is to make everyone who makes a living by reporting or commenting on the news afraid to say anything that might offend the Clintons.
Just heard that Schuster is going back to Fox to replace Geraldo.
This should be a WAKE UP CALL (!!!) to anyone in the media who still shills for the grifter Clinton’s ... WAKE UP!!! This is just the beginning, could you imagine this woman in a position of power to suspend YOUR First Amendment rights along with everyone elses? WAKE UP !!!!
