There were a lot of districts hat would have shifted if the absentee ballot voters hadn’t voted so early.

I know of 3 voters personally that voted for Hunter before he withdrew.

Yes! This worked in MuckCain's favor mightily! His resurgence began when that Bhuto woman in Pakistan was assassinated and almost immediately, Californians started voting, unaware that MuckCain would come back to life by election day with Hunter and Thompson further away than MuckCain had been at that time.

How many times have so many on FreeRepublic, experienced in politics said... "a few weeks can seem like a lifetime in politics!"

That is another good reason to get rid of absentee voting.

McCain topped Romney by 186,000 votes, total. The difference in votes was less than 3,000 in more than 1/2 of the districts. 180,000 votes were cast for candidates that had officially dropped out.
