A bit of a surprise.

A surprise that McNasty threw the second ballot to the Huckster?

It is now official ... Huckabee is the stalking horse for John McCain.

I prefer the earlier post that call Huckabee McCain's bitch.

Romney has serious problems with the red state base and those that support him better come to terms with that fact.

The very same thing can be said for mcswain. He may be able to get the nomination but he will be denied the election. I simply would not support maccain, huck or guliani for anything other than dog catcher after the way they have conducted themselves.

History will not be kind to the GOP and its raftloads of pretenders to the ideals that long served the party well, nor should it be.

The epitaph on the GOP's tombstone will read: "We brought the GOP down, by Huck and by crook (John McCon Arist."

I hope so too. The message from this most lame of presidential campaigns is, conservatives must look to the Congress for leadership. Instead of all this gnashing of teeth over the sad terrain of presidential politics we would do better to be searching out good conservative congressional candidates and working to get them elected. None of the presidential candidates threatens to have long coattails, so the potential exists for attractive conservatives to win in red states and districts. In any case, we will need Congress to stop who-ever gets to the White House, so we might as well concentrate on them.

Sean Hannity just had Newt Gingrich on his show, and tried to get Newt to say Huckabee’s win in West Virginia was because of dirty tricks, and Newt basically said, there weren’t dirty tricks, that’s how things work.

And when Sean tried to get him to say that Huckabee should pull out to give Mitt a better chance, Newt tried to point out that a lot of Huckabee’s supporters would probably go to McCain over Mitt, but it seemed to be falling on deaf ears.

A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE IS A VOTE FOR HUCKABEE!!

Huckabee - reliably pro-life, not recently pro-life.

Huckabee - reliably pro 2nd amendment, not recently 2nd amendment.
He understands that it is for self defense, not just hunting and sports.

He is an ardent, articulate supporter of the Fair Tax, and I believe he really “gets it”. It is the best hope on the horizon for giving power back to the people, and waking people up to the stranglehold the current tax system has on the people and the economy.

If DUNCAN HUNTER believes he can be trusted on border/immigration and WOT issues, I would trust Duncan Hunter’s informed, educated judgment after he spent a year getting to know the candidates, more than I would trust the opinion of any of the haters on here.

Don’t let the people who say he can’t be elected give us another self fulfilling prophecy of having to settle for someone we have to HOPE will do what he says. Right now it’s just name recognition, and when most people get to know Mike Huckabee, they like him.

They were both governors, but those people give Romney a pass for not being able to do what he “really” wanted, because he had a Democrat legislature to work with, when Huckabee was able to work successfully with his Democrat legislature.

Every vote for Mike Huckabee on Tuesday will be one more vote to show the establishment and the media that the election can’t be bought and we don’t have to settle for their opinion of “that’s the best we can get”.

More proof that Huckabee is running for McCain’s Vice President.

“I don’t trust him on his flip-flops and never will. Millions of voters will never trust that he has changed from his NE liberal puke past!”

What you call Romney’s flip-flops are small compared to the McCain (and Huckabee) record that is at odds with southern voters on issue after issue. The problem is, so much is involved most voters will not be well informed about the past records of McCain and Huckabee, and they are lying on a grand scale to try and conceal their past records.

The shameless lying and the sheer number of issues involved will probably help McCain and the Huckster more than anything in the South. But if one debate questioner had pierced McCain dodges and lies on immigration, and followed up with tough questions, it would have sunk him as it did before, and as it damaged Hillary on NY licenses for illegals.

Lies, dodges and dirty politics are the bread and butter for McCain and the Huckster during these weeks.

Thank you for your thoughtful and intelligent response. I hadn’t really thought of how a McCain Presidency would hinder conservative opposition to his crazy liberal ideas. As President he would be the party leader and internal opposition would go nowhere. I was already trying to find some way to hold down my “gag reflex” long enough to vote for McCain in November. After today I can see myself voting for Obama or writing in Mitt Romney anyway!!

I don’t blame you.

I voted for Duncan Hunter here in NH.

But I watched Mitt when he was governor in the Mafia-run communist gulag of Massachusetts, where only one in sixteen registered voters is a Republican.

Mitt was turning to the right more and more, in spite of the bilious and vitriolic opposition he faced. When he ordered the State Police to arrest illegals and turn them over to US-CIS (Customs and Immigration Service), there were HOWLS of despair emanating from the foul pit known as the Massachusetts Legislature.

They did everything they could to discredit and tarnish Mitt. They never did find a scandal they could pin on him, but they sure tried, again and again and again.

I am not a Mormon. I am a born-again Christian. But Mitt is clearly a Godly man, living a clean and unspotted life, in spite of the best mudslinging efforts of his opponents.

Now the majority of the Republican (RINO) establishment in Massachusetts is backing McCain and badmouthing Romney. No surprises there. They were badmouthing him when he was governor.

I believe that this country has missed out on what would have been a truly GREAT president in Mitt Romney. I believe that his conservative epiphany was real and sincere. I believe that he would have led our nation in a God-honoring and conservative direction.

What a living shame.

May God have mercy on our nation and our children.

I’m no n00b. I started posting after the RINO purge, but I have lurked since 1998 and posted on other more conservative forums for a decade.

As for the jerk part, well, what you call jerk, I call the hard cold truth and it seems ya just can’t handle it.

I think tha fact that the Ron Paul people went over to Huck says it all. I’d like the Paul people to tell where in the constitution it is ok to spend tax dollars on illegal aliens and give them special tuition breaks not available to citizens.

The problem for Romney is that he put that policy in place just a couple weeks before he left office when he already knew he was running for POTUS.

It never even went in effect and the RATS did away with it.

He isn’t creditable on the issue. He had illegals working at his house a year after it was brought to his attention by the media and that was while he was already in the race!

That is either “don’t care” or beyond stupid, take your pick.

How do you figure? Huckabee got 18 delegates in WV. There are still 12 left undetermined in WV as their primary is in May.

Thanks to another poster in the forum.

Fox News reported that only nine of the 22 states tonite 9 are majority winning states for the awarding of delegates.

Seems what happened in WV is the norm in how states awards delegates. Who knew?

Its all about strategy.
