Tony Rezko stays jailed despite explanation about $3.5 million wire transfer

A federal judge didn't buy Antoin "Tony" Rezko's explanations Tuesday for how he came into millions of dollars after telling the court he was broke, ordering that he remain locked up in a federal jail until his much-anticipated trial next month.

-snip-

U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve, poised but clearly frustrated, was unmoved by the attempts by Rezko's lawyers to explain away a $3.5 million wire transfer that prosecutors contend was evidence he might have been preparing to flee abroad.

-snip-

St. Eve's decision to jail Rezko means his lawyers must now prepare their case with limited access to their client, a man at the center of a corruption case that has reached into the highest levels of state government and has proven to be a thorn in the presidential campaign of Barack Obama.

-snip-

At one point, St. Eve asked point-blank if Rezko had received any other loans since a controversial $3.5 million payment from Lebanon in April. Rezko could be seen whispering "no" to Duffy, but the attorney then took a five-minute break to privately confer with his client. The answer remained no.

$3.5 million from Lebanon? Last April? Sounds like this goes beyond state politics. And Hillary doesn't know the guy.

I’m trying to figure out if the guy got $3.5 million last April, why are they suspecting he will run now, when he’s had 10 months to do it, and he’s been cooperating?

We’ll know exactly what was going on if the guy has a heart attack in jail before the trial!

"Scary huh?"

Yes. Barak Hussein Obama's best friend:

"That limited their financial risk if Rezko fled, raising fears of prosecutors that was exactly what the native of Syria planned."

Native of Syria, Lebanese banks, Hussein Obama presidential candidate.

Rezko is an ace in the hole - one of the Klintons tools with a pulse to finish him off.

Scary huh?

Obama al-Husseini and his Arab agent friends are scary enough without the Clintons.
