Funny, I don’t see it as a collapse. I see it as the MSM throwing all the liberals at Republicans before any vote was ever taken.

I don’t see Rudy’s folly as much as I see a MSM totally unaware of what is going on with their customers.

The following is funny, viewed in retrospect.

Well, one word not mentioned here is what did him in. Abortion. His numbers started going down just as soon as he confirmed that he was still virulently pro-abortion.

It’s not his only problem, by any means. But it’s the deal breaker.

And to think of all the clownish ex-Freepers who told us to get on the train, because a Rudy candidacy was inevitable.

His family situation was too ugly.

When your kids won’t show up on the stump, you’re pretty much done.

It wasn’t Rudy’s gaffes that did him in. All the other candidates have embarassed themselves at one time or another. Rudy’s problem was that for the first few primaries, he made himself invisible, and therefore irrelevant. The only time you saw him was at debate.

While he was vacationing in FL or wherever, his opponents were building their followings. Rudy took his following for granted. He hoped that the early primaries would be meaningless. He misjudged and it’s costing him.

>>McCain presented himself as the war hero who will not let the troops come home, this makes him “tough on terror<<

McCain has plenty of flaws but its reprehensible to paint him as refusing to let the troops come home.

It’s hard to call yourself conservative or succeed when all you have is a single angle - national security.

Rudy is like a one hit wonder rock-band.

Thank God Rudy managed NYC better after 9/11 than he’s managed his campaign. The. worst. ever.

Just because, I am going to wait until votes are actually cast and counted before I count anybody in or out. I'm just not enough of an expert or a fortune-teller to be as certain as this author is.

I have already voted in Illinois' primary, which is officialy 2/05/08, as many people here have.

The Kerik scandal was just one of many scandals to plague Rudy’s campaign.

Conservatives are very wary of RINO Rudy---he's itching to pardon mobbed-up Bernie Kerik.

Kerik is Rooty's former bodyguard, driver, Police Commissioner, failed Homeland appointee, business partner, admitted felon and tax evader (in that order) who is currently under investigation for lying to the WH.

Kerik is Rooty's obedient yes-man---he signed off on the security detail for the mistress, and paved the way for Rooty's various political gambits.

Watching Rooty navigate the political process is like viewing a horror film festival---he's got more sequels than Bela Lugosi. What else is he hiding under his cape?

I think the candidates (ALL OF THEM) were basing their strategy on a MSM news cycle and not an internet media cycle.

Not even the MSM “got it” with the internet. They thought the ronpaul netziens would focus on that dead end road leaving the adults to focus on a old media news campaign.

Look at these bozos running... they all look like crap...

Not one of them looks good except Romney. None of these bozos have ever done anything that wasn’t connected with some sort of government excess.

Romney doesn’t NEED the job, he can do just fine on his own in the private sector. The rest would be groveling for chump change if it wasn’t for some type of government work or insider contacts with a state enterprise.

I have seen lots of convoluted, meandering definitions of “conservatism,” but when the rubber hits the road, who would be left standing with no worries in THE PRIVATE SECTOR based solely on their own merit???

Romney is the only one of them...

The last thing the Democrats want is a tall, vibrant, healthy man like Mitt Romney standing next to their short, fat old hag during the national debates.
