Seriously—are there such things as magnetic bumper stickers? I hate the idea of placing the cheap adhesive ones on my car, since they’re so difficult to remove.

Plus, I want to be able to take it off temporarily in case I have to park in enemy territory and don’t want my bumper smashed.

I have been to enemy territory many times and my car has not been touched. Especially scary are the daily summer trips to Cape Cod. Between the W sticker and the NY Yankee plate I am a target from all sides.

You can make your own magnetic bumper stickers, I think. Try an office supply store, where the labels are.

The yellow-ribbon stickers you see on cars are magnetic. I take mine off when it rains because if you leave it on too often in the rain your car will rust around it.
