24 hour wifi computer networks at homes are also draining power. We used to turn off our electronic devices at night.

Changing light bulbs are like putting a band aid on a deep gash. A futile effort.

There certainly is lots of technology plugged in and continuously using power. My microwave is always showing the time. My cable box is always running, my VCR is sucking power to run its program circuits. And how many of us have those DC power transformers plugged in ready to charge cordless electric tools and cell phones?

As time goes on, people will find new uses for energy. The demand will always increase. Anytime there is a technology that will save energy, there will be other technologies that will take what was saved by efficiency. As Rush has said, you get a car that uses less gas and you will drive your car more.

The answer is to create more energy. Any kid with a magnifying glass knows where there is lots of energy. If one were to put as much energy talking about Global Warming and Carbon Taxes as they did in building solar, there would be certainly less hot gas coming out in the form of BS.

“and having to travel in not limos but bicycles.”

LOL That gave me a mental picture of Brinty Spears on bicycle.

How many greenies does it take to change a light bulb?

None. They’d rather sit in the dark, generating ground level smugness

I feel like I am living in a science fiction movie.

It's a Monty Python movie for me.

I am officially hoarding incandescent light bulbs. I figure that I need about 6000 for the rest of my life. I am already at 400, just since the energy bill was signed. (Best of all, most have been on sale for as low as a quarter each.) I am either brilliant or nuts but I can't see squat with those $6 tubey things and my eyes have gotten worse as I have aged. And I'm getting 100-watt'ers--no 40's or 60's for me!

In my own way, this is my little rebellion against Al Gore and the Global Warming Nazis. And it feels real, real good...

Hey Al, READ THIS! Global warming will delete your hard drive. No, not just the data. It will make your hard drive disappear! Not only that, but it will scramble any disks that are even close to your computer. It will recalibrate your refrigerator's coolness setting so all your ice cream goes melty. It will demagnetize the strips on all your credit cards, screw up the tracking on your television and use subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you try to play.

It will give your ex-girlfriend your new phone number. It will mix Kool-aid into your fishtank. It will drink all your beer and leave its socks out on the coffee table when there's company coming over. It will put a dead kitten in the back pocket of your good suit pants and hide your car keys when you are late for work.

Global warming will make you fall in love with a penguin. It will give you nightmares about circus midgets. It will pour sugar in your gas tank and shave off both your eyebrows while dating your girlfriend behind your back and billing the dinner and hotel room to your Discover card.

It will seduce your grandmother. It does not matter if she is dead, such is the power of Global warming, it reaches out beyond the grave to sully those things we hold most dear.

It moves your car randomly around parking lots so you can't find it. It will kick your dog. It will leave libidinous messages on your boss's voice mail in your voice! It is insidious and subtle. It is dangerous and terrifying to behold. It is also a rather interesting shade of mauve.

Global warming will give you Dutch Elm disease. It will leave the toilet seat up. It will make a batch of Methanphedime in your bathtub and then leave bacon cooking on the stove while it goes out to chase gradeschoolers with your new snowblower.

Listen to me. Global warming does not exist.

It cannot do anything to you. But I can. I am sending this message to everyone in the world. Tell your friends, tell your family. If anyone else bothers me with fearmongering concerning Global warming, I will turn hating them into a religion. I will do things to them that would make a horsehead in your bed look like Easter Sunday brunch.

"If we get distracted by the aberrations that you see in the financial market right now it would clearly be very unfortunate," said Rajendra Pachauri, head of the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

They show this a-hole on CSPAN about every other day. He really needs skewering. For the chirren.

I’m watching the South Park Global Warming episode as I type this. Reality is actually stranger than a cartoon.

We fought and won a nearly 50-year Cold War to avoid this kind of socialist nonsense. Now our "leaders" can't wait to be the first to impose it.

And that's the really scary part. It was easy to recognize and oppose communism and fascism when fronted by brutal totalitarian regimes. But people don't seem to recognize it when it's cloaked in green.

With its stated aims to control, regulate, and minimize all economic activity and freedom through the control of carbon emissions, it's not an overstatement to say the modern environmental movement represents the greatest threat to individual freedom and personal liberty in the world today.

When George Bush signs into law a bill that outlaws the incandescent light bulb, you realize that anything is possible. We need a leader with the fortitude to stop the progressive loss of personal choice and the strength to resist giving away national sovereignty for another decade until this scam's true nature is revealed.

It's also important for every skeptic to counter the propoganda to the best of our ability. An excellent way is to buy a copy of The Great Global Warming Swindle and loan it to family and friends. If you are not familiar with it, this is a documentary that aired on British Channel 4. It's a superb refutation of Gore's fallacious fictional slide show and a must see, though I doubt you'll ever see it on television in the U.S.

You can watch a Google Video stream of the program here. Forward the link to family and friends.

If you want to burn your own DVD from the stream, go to Keep Vid, paste the link, and download. The download is 194 MB and is a flash video (flv).

To convert the flash video, download Super (C). It's freeware and a great little program for converting media files from one form to another. The site is poorly designed and you have to click through two or three windows and search to find the download link. If you want to download direct click here.

After you install Super (C), open it and open Windows Explorer. Drag the flv file into the Super (C) panel and convert it to avi. Use Windows Movie Maker or the video software of your choice to create an MPEG 2 file and burn it to a DVD.

I wonder...... and I should not... but I can't help wondering....

How much useable oil do you think could be rendered from Gore's fat torso?

There might yet be hope he could contribute something useful to society, even if only a couple gallons of gasoline I can put into the tank of my SSR for an 80mpg freeway run :-)
