(CNSNews.com) - One of the nation's major, liberal-leaning newspapers is giving Sen. Hillary Clinton "two Pinocchios" for "significant omissions or exaggerations" at Monday's Democratic debate in South Carolina.
And a former Senate leader -- a Democrat -- is part of a new South Carolina Truth Squad to counter the Bill and Hillary Clintons' "incredible distortions."
In a page A-7 "Fact Checker" column on Wednesday, The Washington Post noted that Clinton and her Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama "sparred repeatedly" at Monday's debate in South Carolina, with Clinton "questioning Obama about his ties to a real estate developer and his comments about Ronald Reagan."
The column, by Michael Dobbs, said "Clinton is reading too much into Obama's remark that Republicans were the 'party of ideas' and is overlooking her own kind words about Reagan."
The column also said that Clinton exaggerated when she accused Obama of "representing your contributor [Tony] Rezko in his slum landlord business in inner-city Chicago."
According to the Post's "fact-checker," all that's been demonstrated so far is that Obama, as a junior lawyer doing the bidding of his bosses, "did some due diligence legal work for a joint venture between Rezko and a Chicago nonprofit."
In another development, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) is part of a new South Carolina Truth Squad formed to counter the Clintons' attacks on Obama.
"We wanted to talk a little bit today about the incredible distortions that are coming from the Clinton campaign, in particular, and our desire to set the record straight," said Daschle in a conference call with reporters on Tuesday. "Our purpose is to respond forcefully to each and every one of these allegations."

It’s amazing that she can lie so openly and not be called on it by anyone other than Rush and Free Republic, etc. The lib sheep just gush over her every word, especially if it’s a lie.
The Clinton Attack Machine isn’t even warmed up yet.
Heck, Carville didn’t even sign on full time until last week.

I too am amazed at how few people are outraged by outright provable lies committed by both she and her husband.

Just think of what the presidency of Hellary would be like.
Obama struck back during the debate, but, as the Clintons well know, lies tend to stick even after they are rebutted.
I don’t think Americans are so much appalled by liars as they are about liars who insist they are not lying.
