There is a special exemption for students who are full-time and work for their school: no payroll (Social Security or Medicare) taxes on wages earned, with a maximum of 20 hours worked per week, for the school.
If the student works for an outside employer such as a bank or restaurant, there is no payroll tax exemption nor is there a limit on numbers worked.
