Awesome photo — reminds me of a Schlieren photograph of density gradients. The clarity of the shockwaves is amazing.

I’d guess that is the exhibition over the San Fran Bay looking over at Tiburon.

Not really, the Blues fly wore out pieces of junk that the fleet has used up and grounded. They strip them down to reduce weight as much as possible, glue them back together and put a purdy paint job on them.

A very good friend is a Marine Harrier driver and he says it is amazing how they fly as well as what those planes realy are. That is why the techs are working their butts of just to keep the things in the air.

On the other hand, the T Birds used to advertise that their planes were current fighters that could be doing combat missions in 24 hrs. Repaint over the red, white and blue, re-install wing racks and go shoot em up bang bang.

You know, I've got over 1300 pics in my "Aircraft" folder...I honestly couldn't pick - even from those - "The most amazing" jet picture.

But I have a bunch that are more amazing than that one.

As a professional freelance photographer for 20 plus years I can only judge based on the photos I’ve seen. Speaking as a shooter, and what I look for in a picture, this one has it all. Content, framing, exposure, focus, etc. I’m not sure what else there could be in or about the picture that would improve it.

Please, don’t take my comments as criticism or questioning your judgment! I’m speaking purely from personal experience and in my world this is almost an impossible photo.

Thanks!
