Strong cyclonic activity in far north Queensland and a string of lows off the east coast have convinced scientists that Australia at last has a La Nina weather system in place.
It should dominate weather patterns until autumn and, hopefully, bring drought-breaking rain.
University of Southern Queensland climatology expert Roger Stone said yesterday it was the best La Nina conditions Australia had recorded in just on a decade.
"We've had La Nina conditions before but they've been weak events. This one is a classic," Professor Stone said. "We should get at least another three months or more of these conditions.".............................Come to think of it, seems Al Gore and his Branch Algorians have gone into hibernation since the winter has brought snow and cold to much of the United States.....One other factoid, the thawing arctic is undergoing a very nasty spell of cold weather.....My favorite Arctic Canadian outpost, Iqaluit, near the Hudson Bay where all the polar bears are starving has had a HIGh temperature of -6 F on ONE DAY THIS MONTH> For the other 10 days the highest tempt has been -18F, and the highest low temp for those days has been -24F. I am sure the residents there are really worried about global warming right about now.

I was having a discussion with my stepson the other day about GW. His exposure to the psuedo-science/religion of GW was very evident and he wouldn’t/couldn’t listen to contrary evidence. That is until my 6 year old granddaughter asked “Doesn’t the sun heat us all up?” That shut him up.
