Quit my job, put myself on my husband’s payroll and give myself a raise in two weeks.

Good morning, Everyone. Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families. THANK YOU for all you do.

Thank you, Connie, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities. Now, those are certainly some resolutions I will be able to make and keep. LOL

DC Metroland weather report
~ Today....Plenty of sunshine. High 53F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
~ Tonight.... Mainly clear. Low 39F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph.

Boy, has it been rainy here. We've a day of rain. Then a day with none. Then, yesterday it rained just about all day. I sure hope this is bring our water table back up.

Mr. Beachy and I will just stay home and probably sleep in the New Year as we've done in the years before. If you plan on partying, stay safe.
I won't be here long this morning. I have to go to Mr. Beachy's holiday party at his place of work. The boss is taking a few of us to lunch.

Time for me to make my rounds. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!

Now remember, the Canteen is

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

Well, it's not a resolution, although my resolution started before Halloween (Quiting smoking, going well so far), but it's the annual poem from Just another Joe.
For those of you who have seen it, forgive me for posting it again.
For those of you who haven't seen it, enjoy.

Amateur Night

The streets were quiet this day
As along to work I made my way

The revelers were all sleeping, getting their rest
For tonight they would party… party their best

The party would start early and go until late
Tomorrow would be different, it had to be fate

The children would all get a sip of the wine
The drinks would flow and BOY they’d taste fine

The streets were quiet this morn as I went
It seemed like a boiler whose steam wouldn’t vent

If anyone thinks that by now they’d awaken
The thing to do that is the smell of bacon

But their wives were all snuggled beside them in bed
While visions of the party danced round in their head

“No bacon for you” their wifeys would say
“We have to sleep hard for most of the day”

The streets were all quiet as I made my way
I remembered the times I had in my day

We’re no longer young, we have to rest up
Tonight there’ll be no alcohol left in our cup

Our brains will be tiddly, we’ll feel so good
No hangovers tomorrow, knock on wood

I cannot see what is good anymore
About winding up drunk on the floor

The streets were so quiet, I played a song
Loud on my stereo as I went along

If I wake those revelers, (Oh Dear, Oh Dear)
I will not back down, I will not show fear

If they were good employees, like me
It’s already at work they would be

Normal people, tonight, don’t go out for fright
For tonight, you see, is AMATUER NIGHT!

Guess who’s been a bad widdle sergeant? My New Year’s Resolution is to log onto FR more often! And send my thank you notes a little quicker than six months after the fact. Thank you to all the Proud Patriots and especially Connie! I got my Birthday box, Halloween box, Thanksgiving box, and Christmas box. As a matter of fact, it’s the only box I got before the mailroom closed on Christmas Eve. You all really do make a difference; sorry I didn’t thank you sooner.
