but you seem to be since it depends upon your effective FT rate.

The receipts we get will break out the tax, so we can finally see the true cost of government. Everyone who buys an item for $100 will see the exact same tax on their receipt. The receipts will not vary according to each persons different effective rate. How would the retailer know my effective rate?

The retailer doesn’t need to know your effective rate. He merely follows the law as written.

To know what tax you’re actually paying, though, YOU need to know your effective FairTax rate might be.
