What went wrong?

America is never going to elect a short balding guy who speaks with a lisp.

Greatest bagpipe rock song of all time.

Thanks, now it’s playing in my office!

Always remember the old saying - the perfect is the enemy of the good.

Who is talking perfection? Rudy doesn't even support 1/2 of the Republican platform!

has also said that he would nominate judges similar to John Roberts and Sam Alito which would be fine with me!

I trust the record over the words. He's been all over the board on way too many issues.

My whole point in responding to this thread was to say that I think Huckabee would be even worse ... is willing to take away some of your rights as an American as well - even in the area of nutrition and how much you are allowed to weigh.

Rudy seized property without due process and frisked people in the streets. Both Huckabee and Giuliani are equally dangerous in terms of freedom.

IMHO, if we lose the WOT, we will lose the freedom that all of us cherish and all of those other issues become meaningless.

IMHO, if we elect Giuliani we will lose the freedom that we all cherish no matter what happens in the WOT.

"Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every
single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion
about what you do and how you do it."

-- Rudy Giuliani, New York Times, March 17, 1994
I'm afraid that we will just have to agree to disagree and pray that God will continue to bless America through this difficult time in our history.

I suppose so.

Hell, Rudy endorsed Mario Cuomo over Pataki in the NY Governor’s race.

One of many sins. ;-)

Giuliani Compares Himself To Schwarzenegger

Giuliani: I'd Govern Like Schwarzenegger

Giuliani likes Schwarzenegger style

Conservatives FINALLY started to realize how out-of-touch with the traditional base a LIBERAL with a 'train-wreck' of a personal life--like Giuliani--really was!!!

Took them long enough!

And now they're supporting Huckabee? (((shaking head)))

IMO, any candidate wanting to make inroads against Rudy in the CA primary would be running an ad with these quotes, complete with the $14B debt Arnie has wrought. Since CA is district by district, there’s a lot of delegates up for grabs. A “2nd place” finisher here might gain more delegates than a win in several smaller states.

“In some respects this reminds me of 1976, which was a battle royal between Ford and Reagan.”

I was not following politics back then; still in high school. But I love hearing the history of that race.

Anymore insights to the Reagan-Ford battles?

Yeah. It was Reagan’s stunning upset in Texas where he won all 100 delagates with the help of newly termed “Reagan democrats.” The ground campaign that his advisors created was extremely successful bucking the Republican establishment. It has been copied even to this day by virtually all Pubbie campaigns.

One day on the campaign trail in San Antonio, Ford didn’t help himself when, in a memorably humorous faux pas, he was offered a Tex-Mex tamale and proceeded to try to bite into it without removing the inedible husk.

"Rudy: What Went Wrong?

Abortion. Adultery. Aimless liberal pandering.

He should be smart enough to figure this out...

"Mike Deaver, Frank Shakespeare, Richard Viguerie, call your offices..."

Ronald Reagan, President of the United States (1981-1989)

1980: landslide (44 states, 489 electoral votes) Reagan's position: pro-life

1984: landslide (49 states, 525 electoral votes) Reagan's position: pro-life

Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and he’s got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.

.

.

.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.
