Profiling opponents erroneously or deceitfully claim that Timothy McVeigh was not profiled because he was white.

I am currently working on a four part series about crime and punishment ( or lack thereof) in America. It should be very enlightening and informative.

Concurrently, I am working with the Bulletin to sponsor a symposium about this. I have inquired about the availability of Justices Scalia and Alito both of whom are from the Philadelphia area, as well as Joe Arpaio who worked with my father at DEA.

If anyone can think of a good panel member let me know. It could be a jurist, politician, academician, LEO etc.

It would be a crime to not include Heather MacDonald.

Profiling opponents erroneously or deceitfully claim that Timothy McVeigh was not profiled because he was white.

Timothy McVeigh was used as an excuse to profile white Christians, gun owners, and anybody else who spoke out against the Clinton regime. Timothy McVeigh was the strawman that allowed Janet Reno to waste the country's law enforcement resources on Billy Bob's Bass and Gun Club instead of Ramzi Youssef and the Islamic Brotherhood plotters who bombed the Trade Center. Timothy McVeigh was the cause of more unjust profiling of American citizens than anyone in my lifetime.

I interviewed her a few years ago about her book. She was a difficult interview. I traveled all the way to New York City to meet with her and for the first ten minutes or so she said little or nothing.

I started making small talk - thinking that would thaw her out a little. It did. However, by then, she said that the time she alotted me was over. She abruptly excused herself and started to leave the restaurant where we met.

I think I’ll pass.

It sounds like she wasn't very interested in selling books.

One topic you might want to touch on (if you aren't already) is when racial profiling follows misconceptions, like the erroneous idea that white men are more likely to be serial killers. If Charles Moose hadn't followed this misconception for so long, the Beltway Snipers might have been caught a lot sooner. Also, the black serial killer from Louisiana, Derrick Todd Lee, was caught after a long time of the boneheaded authorities looking for a white suspect even though there were significant clues pointing to a black perp.

A- She definitely wanted to sell books. I just think she is not very personable.

B- Yeah the reverse discrimination angle of racial profiling is another subject for another article. ( Come to think of it I believe I did write something about that a few years ago for Frontpagemag.com. I don’t know - they are all starting to blend together.)
