What gets me is that churches are in the statute (of some states, like Georgia) as places where permit holders aren't allowed to carry. Excuse me...but where is the 'separation of church and state' doctrine here? Shouldn't it be left up to the individual church to decide whether their members can carry or not?
It was that way in Texas, until a bunch of preacher, pastors and priests got together and let the Legislature know that they didn't think disarming them as they walked from their "office" to their home, was a Nice Thing. Next session the law was changed to make Churches no different than any other private property. They can post a 30.06 (section of the code defining the sign) sign if they wish, but few do.
Hospitals seem about the last places I regularly see posted. Oh and Taco Cabana, originally out of San Antonio, but bought by a firm from New York City. They didn't post until the change of ownership, but the dumb bunnies at Corporate in NYC did not mandate a legal sign, every one I've seen is way too small to meet the requirements of the law.
