“I think people need to do a little homework first on what the LDS believe before making their decisions. “
Oh really. We need to judge Mitt Romney on the details of Mormon doctrine? And judge the doctrine not by the sect itself but by those hostile to it. Can we mark you down as ... ‘Doesn’t get the point’ then?
“As a young man, Lincoln described what he called America’s ‘political religion’ the commitment to defend the rule of law and the Constitution. When I place my hand on the Bible and take the oath of office, that oath becomes my highest promise to God. If I am fortunate to become your President, I will serve no one religion, no one group, no one cause, and no one interest. A President must serve only the common cause of the people of the United States. “ - Mitt Romney
I agree. I thought the speech was excellent. It was just what the country needed to hear.I was moved by it and he delivered it beautifully.
Well said.
I think Mitt gave a phenomenal speech. I think it is a real mistake to hold his religion against him. I understand why some people sometimes ask if this is the real Mitt Romney. But lets give him his proper due. In this campaign he has often said the right things and said them well. I hope this speech will be remembered for a long time, regardless of whatever else happens.
I was a John Ashcroft fan when he was running for President.
I think Romney's speech will be remembered for a long time. I don't think there is another candidate of any party who could give a speech like that today. A bonus is that he wrote it himself. Perhaps that's why he could deliver it with passion and conviction.
Perhaps it's time to hope for Romney/Hunter? I like the idea of Duncan as President of the Senate.
I’d vote for that suggestion.
Romney can give a speech. But I don’t think he can walk the talk.
Anyway, he gets to play victim now (learned that from Hillary)
Yes, anyone who make half a billion dollars yet stays married to his first wife while she battles MS is a real genuine and honest family man.
And he’s not playing the victim, he’s being the leader by laying it out how it is and how it should be - our next President.
Romney speech was great.
He has been horrible in the debates (Hillary will abuse him)
Even worse, he talks like a conservative but past history shows he governs like a liberal (Romney care, etc.)
