Murtha's Muddle
IBD ^ | November 30, 2007

Iraq: After years of leading Congress' cut-and-run forces, John Murtha, House Appropriations defense subcommittee chairman, believes the surge is working. The Pelosi Democrats don't know if they're coming or going.

How exactly can House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defend the obstruction of $200 billion in emergency combat operations funding for our forces in Iraq and Afghanistan when one of her closest cronies, the Vietnam vet she tried to install as House majority leader, now believes America is winning the war there?

Murtha's "Road to Baghdad" conversion may not have knocked him to the ground with a blinding light. But it's certain to throw congressional Democrats for a loop as it exposes their years of blindness on the importance of winning in Iraq as part of the global war on terror.

Iraq: After years of leading Congress' cut-and-run forces, ABSCAM Unidicted Co-Conspiritor Congressman John Murtha, House Appropriations defense subcommittee chairman, believes the surge is working. The Pelosi Democrats don't know if they're coming or going.

Fixed it.

My best guess is that Murtha may have put down the bottle for awhile during his trip.

I’m not being sarcastic. - I’ve worked with a lot of drunks, and just by looking at him, his countenance, and his demeanor, I really do believe that he is a fat drunk, much like teddie.

Ted is so obviously drunk most of his waking hours that it is significant to note that his voters must be operating on the “anyone but any pub” political view.

Murtha has become little different, and his shockingly outrageous, off the cuff, lunatic ranting is embarrassing to me as an American.

Once he is safely ensconced back stateside, watch for the blundering nonsense to pour forth again.

Murtha brings shame to the people of Johnstown PA who voted for pork over our American hero’s. Once Murtha is retired, that city needs to rely only upon their steel mills, the last industry they built.

They closed years ago.

An interesting observation, I’ve noticed his eyes and skin, I’ve also always thought he seems depressed, as in alchoholic depression.

That is the real challenge facing a Republican challenging Murtha. A campaign of “I’m not a treasonous POS” won’t work. A challenger who doesn’t promise to out-Murtha Murtha in bringing home the pork doesn’t stand a chance. As we saw in ‘06, the people in PA-12 don’t care about anything that happens outside their hometowns.

I agree & thats why I think these people in congress & senate etc need to be drug/alcohol tested. After a certain age or behavior maybe tested for dementia too. If everyday Americans can & are tested then so should the people who work for us. I don't trust Murtha or Teddy to make a decision for me. IMHO there is a bunch of them in DC that need nursing homes, rehabs & jail.

Murtha needs to deploy himself to a mental ward. Teddy well he11 would be fine for him IMO.

My impression is that the PA GOP chair (I believe his name is Gleason) knows and likes Murtha. Or maybe it’s just the GOP in PA believes that any spending in PA-12 is just wasting money.

The more I look at that fat doofus bitch, the more I am ready to swear that I met him at Quantico, VA back in '70 or '71 when he was there for (reserve?) training.
Any way to check and see if he was there? I suppose not.

I would agree but Murtha is so vile that his apology wouldn’t be worth much.

His only rightful title is that of the first ever “ex-Marine”.

Ignore Murtha's retraction stick with the surge is working quote. Make like there never was a retraction of anything.

The surge is working, Iraqi political reconciliation is coming faster than you think.

Sure looks like the ex-Marine is going to continue having problems of credibility.
