Thanks for the update. I caught the story early from the AP via FOX, and they headlined it as “house arrest”, it was kinda still developing. That’s a lot better take on the matter. The AP could of worded the headline a little better.IMHO.

If they could come to terms to restore some semblance of democracy; they could turn their attention to the tribal regions to reign in AL-Qaeda & the Taliban. Any pacifying of these regions could have a positive affect on Afghanistan as well. The Taliban would have one less haven..of course Iran would take them in.

I’m just thinking out loud, but I really wonder if setting up a Pashtunistan tribal zone for both AF and Pakistan would help?

I mean, it’s not like Kurdistan where you have civilized people. Kurdistan can stay in Iraq I think.

But Pashtunistan would be for these people, some of whom are literally mountain people stuck in 10000 BC. Some of these people don’t know electricity or that the earth is round. Just let these cave people alone, and if they leave their reservation, shoot ‘em.
