Our drug problem could be resolved if we followed Singapore’s example of handing the death penalty to those that either use or sell drugs.
____

Absolutely LOL. You are the first poster on FR I have ever read that would have supported the death penalty for Rush Limbaugh (IIRC some of his Oxycontin may have come from other than legitimate sources).

"it seems a bit extreme to advocate death for drug users"

I agree. In fact, the whole WOD is un-Constitutional.

I think about the horrific ways most of these victims were killed by those sitting on death row and I’d laugh about their claims the DP is cruel and unusual, except, so many activist judges believe the argument.

My opinion? Waterboard them then execute them with a single shot to the head. (yeap, i’m an evil conservative)

I am tired of idiots who value the rights of criminals over the rights of victims

A death row inmate should be executed...and it should be cruel. I am tired of pandering to criminals

The death penalty does reduce crime. An executed criminal no longer commits a crime.

The same whiners cried for lethal injection...claiming it was not cruel and unusual...not the same pro-crime immoral scum now claim it is cruel and unusual.

I am also very tired of hearing how the DP does not deter further crime.

One of the best known person who was deterred from further killings was Ted Bundy. After he escaped from jail in Colorado while awaiting sentencing, he fled to Florida and upped his victim count by visiting the Chi Omega sorority and upping his death count, including 12 year old Kimberly Leach; he was executed for her murder.

Last I checked, Bundy was never able to escape again or kill anyone else after his execution.

After all, death by dehydration/starvation is blissful and euphoric, not cruel.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yeah, I have heard that, I can’t figure out why we don’t have huge numbers dying every day from starvation and dehydration, once you get a taste of all that bliss I don’t know how you force yourself to eat and drink again.

We need to put the teeth back in the punishment phase and stop pandering to MURDERERS!!!!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Bring ‘em to South Carolina, strip ‘em naked and tie ‘em down on a large fire ant bed. They’ll soon learn what cruel and unusual really means.

And one more thing. Force them to listen to recordings of the Dave Matthews band interspersed with Hillary’s speeches, occasionally interrupted by her cackle.

Ha, ha!

Rush had a prescription didn't he? I don't believe he forged one.

I take drugs too, but have a prescription. I doubt if I were a Singaporean that I'd be hanged.

I may be the only one who thinks this way but it seems a bit extreme to advocate death for drug users.

Those who have been beaten, injured and robbed by drug addicts might differ with you.

The statement I disagreed with had nothing to do with anyone being "beaten, injured and robbed".

The poster advocated the death penalty for drug users.

I understand that the effects of drug use are terrible and still will not advocate the death penalty for users.

The only drug I use is for high blood pressure.

Well, I got one person to agree with me anyway that the death penalty for drug use is too extreme. More than one person here disagrees with that.

If pot is considered an illegal drug and it is, we would have to bring back the ovens of ww2 Germany to execute all the users.

Thanks Carolyn.

Let's not give them any ideas!

there were certainly plenty of allegations of wrongdoing, and in a Singaporean court, that may have been enough.

and thankfully you did read my post as the tongue in cheek post it was intended to be
