At the same time, Huckabee has taken criticism for his proposal, as governor, to offer Arkansas in-state tuition to illegal aliens and their children. I have always said you dont punish a child for the crime of a parent, Huckabee tells me. Frankly, its in our best interest to try to get that child on to a higher level of education. That's a real nice incentive for illegals to come here!

When I first met him, I was going through his positions on issues and I said, Youre a conservative, so Im sure you oppose granting parole for violent felons, says Dick Morris, the campaign consultant who ran Huckabees first run for lieutenant governor. And he said, Oh no, I would never take that position, because the concept of Christian duty requires that there is a possibility of forgiveness. The concept of Christian forgiveness requires that we keep open the process of parole use it sparingly, but keep it open.

How many times are you going to keep shilling for this loser?

One of Huckabee's biggest detriments in a general election would be REVEREND MIKE.
Coupled with the label of being a Nannystater and supporting an open-borders/pro-illegals, he would have trouble winning a single state.

Huckabee is likeable. I really don’t like some of his positions though. I liked this last fellow as well while not liking some of his positions.
I’m thinking I’d like to find somebody I can’t stand, but who has positions I can agree with.

This is an excellent, and accurate, article about Mike Huckabee.

Thanks; it looks like he is getting some traction. However, I am becoming more pessimistic about the state of the conservative movement. Huckabee’s practical governing methods are not going to sit well with the red-meat crowd, and if he is the nominee, I think some people will stay home. He will also have a very hard time due to the amount of religious bigotry that is running rampant in the media; this pardon thing could be a bigger Achilles heel than Romney’s mandated health-care. Still, I agree with a lot of his positions, and think he will be a better leader all around than any of the senators running.

“So what does his record add up to? Well, the charges have not, as Huckabee claims, been pretty much debunked. Some of them are true.”
His excuse ‘debunking’ his push for raising taxes is that ‘golly gee, we really needed the money.’
Well, any Democrat can say that.
