StopBadware.org StopBadware Website Clearinghouse -- Site-specific Information
Warning This site is currently being reviewed Submit Additional Comments
(http://www.lucianne.com/short_cuts.asp) has been determined by Google's testing to be a site that hosts or distributes badware.
What is this page? You landed on this page because Google's independent testing has found that some portion of the site you were attempting to reach contains or links to badware or otherwise violates software guidelines of both Google and StopBadware. See the StopBadware FAQ for more information on Google warning pages. StopBadware's researchers have not reviewed this website. If they do, this warning page will be replaced with a detailed report. To see the reports we've done to date, click here.
What is badware? Badware is software that behaves in malicious and/or deceptive ways and is commonly referred to as spyware, malware, and deceptive adware. If you download badware to your computer you may experience numerous pop-up ads; software installed without your permission or software difficult to uninstall; software that includes Trojan horses, stealth dialers, keyloggers, and viruses; slowed computer processing or even crashing; and in some cases, your privacy may be violated and abused when personal information is collected without your permission. For more information about the risks badware poses to you and your computer, see StopBadware's Guidelines and About Badware pages.
It’s not impossible to know, if you read the thread. In this case, it seems the thread starter is not having an issue with Google, but rather an issue with his computer: not only have other FReepers logged on the site with no difficulty, but he’s just said that his wife, using a different computer with the same IP, can access the site just fine.
But hey, when has FR ever passed on a chance to bash something?
"I believe that all entities, whether government or free-market, need to protect the sanctity of free speech. This is a basic civic responsibility. Those who do not are cowards. Sadly, we live in an era where civic responsibility is disposable, considered a burden instead of a privilege." - Frank Salvato, publisher of The New Media Journal
They banned The New Media Journal. They banned MichNews.com. They banned The Jawa Report. Google is on a political and ideological campaign of political correctness that sees them denying access to their service to any website - be it news, opinion or a hybrid of both - that dares to address the subject of radical Islam.
Click here to see the original email from "The Google News Team."
This sets a dangerous precedent. What will the next subject be that serves as a catalyst for Google to promote their unique brand of corporate censorship? Which website will be the next to have it's Internet presence diminished at the hands of Google's "progressive" ideological agenda? WorldNetDaily? JihadWatch? NewsMax?
It is because of this - and our dedication to American Free Enterprise and the free market - that we have established The Anti-Google Search Engine Index. This index offers an ever-expanding list of search engines, many more comprehensive and many who do not manipulate content based on the ideology of political correctness.
We urge you to switch from using Google as your search engine and try the ones listed below. If you would like to suggest a search engine for inclusion on the list click here. Bear in mind that if the search engine you are suggesting charges for inclusion, a complimentary submission of The New Media Journal in the index will be required.
We may not be able to force Google to stop censoring free speech, but we can affect their bottom line. A

LOL!! That is funny!
I run my scans often and do pick up some adware because I do searches for images for my graphics. Lucianne has a lot of ads now so they probably do put cookies on us.
Sorry, you are misreading the situation.
Nefarious individuals coalesce around the idea of banning/blocking/denying access of conservative websites, they either find enough individuals to join their cause, or they build or rent out a botnet to send in abuse/spam/malware/ hate speech/child pornography complaints to various companies and organizations that maintain services that are blocklists. These companies include StopBadware.org, NetNanny, CastleCops etc.
FR has been blocked in the past through this method various times too. http://censorware.net/articles/01/06/16/0322210.shtml
http://www.google.com/search?q=freerepublic+blocked+at+ork&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Google has a problem because they are actively supporting (financially, publicity wise, and legally) non profits who have active members who are actively sending in false complaints against conservative websites. It’s very cozy on their side.
Yeah. Use DOGPILE
Firefox will automatically add it to your search engine window (navigation bar, far right) right after you first use it.
Consider that no one had a gun to their head...
I find it very easy to lay blame where it belongs...
Considering the Govt in place there...
Go to download.com and get
CRAP CLEANER (CCLEANER) or ATF-Cleaner
Then you have all the options and it is quick and easy.
I would recommend ADAWARE, SPYBOT S+D at a minimum.
If you want some really useful, and extremely cool software, get Zilla WinCleaner.
The Graphic interface is a light-year ahead of anything else on the market (and it’s totally free).
thanks to all of you... I have done all the things to IE to clean the History files...still I got this web page:

My opinion that this is random, but much more common than we think! I am mad as hell about this intrusion!!!
New questions raised on
Google, MoveOn.org relationship
The Examiner [Washington, DC], by Robert Cox
Original Article

WASHINGTON - Internal documents obtained by The Examiner shine new light on MoveOn.orgs General Betray Us ad and raise fresh questions about the far-left advocacy groups misleading statements on the issue and its relationship with Google, a major donor to its political action committee. The documents show how MoveOn.org used dubious claims of trademark infringement and threats of litigation to silence critics of its recent controversial full-page ad in The New York Times attacking Gen. David H. Petraeus, the top U.S. general in Iraq...

A short note about the Examiner. It’s a free newspaper that tends to lean a little to the right. It’s been through many transformations in the past 25 years but has emerged as a much better paper than the SF Comical. A breath of fresh air for a conservative in this sea of leftist insanity.
Google, like all the high-tech software giants, will implode within the next ten years- maybe not fast enough, but it will happen.
Microsoft has been an extraordinary exception to the rule.

Re Google’s claimed corporate standards, if you wanted to advertise the anti-Wal-Mart site I’m sure they would have no problem using the Wal-Mart name.

FROM: The Resurrection of Al Gore
WIRED Magazine, May 2006
http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/14.05/gore_pr.html
[Al Gore spoke in uncharacteristically personal and passionate terms [...] There, at tables topped with earth-shaped ice sculptures melting symbolically in the warmth of surrounding votive candles, guests mingled with Gore and his wife, Tipper, [...] “I need your help here,” an emotional Gore pleaded at the end of the evening. “Working together, we can find the technologies and the political will to solve this problem.” The crowd fell hard. “People were surprised,” says Wendy Schmidt, who helped organize the event and, with her husband, Google CEO Eric Schmidt, supported Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign. “They think of a slide show about science, they think of Al Gore. But they come out later and say, ‘He’s funny, he’s passionate, he’s real.’”]

More BS from radical liberals at Google.
We pulled google off of all of the computers at our company. I don’t want their politics influencing what information is displayed to our people.

What is this page? That's right - Google is saying that StopBadware has found this site to possibly be distributing badware, but the only report that StopBadware has against Lucianne.com is from Google's own testing. If I were paranoid, I'd suspect that Google had labeled Lucianne.com as a possible source of badware because Lucianne.com has a negative report on Google on its front page:
|
See my previous post above. StopBadware.org claims that the only reason they have labled Lucianne.org suspect is because Google.com's testing has reported a problem with Lucianne.com to StopBadware.org.
So this time I don't think this was the result of other anonymous nefarious individuals, unless they found some indirect way to poison Google.com's testing.
I'm getting to, as I carefully documented in a prior post above. Google.com's testing has reported to StopBadware.org that there is a problem with the Lucianne.com web site, causing Google search results for Lucianne.org to redirect the search result links through this Warning page.
You might have confused the discussion a bit by also mentioning that you could not get to Lucianne.com for a few days:
For the record (just in case things change in the middle of the night), that link goes to a StopBadware.org page stating:
