if the philandering elvis from Arkansas had defended the nation he swore to defend as vigorously as he defends the illusion of his “legacy,” — in other words, if he cared for the legacy of liberty as much as for the legacy of bill clinton — I rather think the new millenium might have gotten off to a much better start for the world at large.
