Im glad a so called top tier candidate is taking the issue seriously . Its about time ,I dont think these guys, except now Fred ,realize how mad people are about this issue.
Keep hammering Fred ,this is a MAJOR issue ,but I am sure you know you will be attacked by both Republicans and Democrats in the elite wing since they are the ones pushing Amnesty.

"Today I am also announcing that my office will be working with a coalition of well-known individuals and organizations who oppose the anti-immigration forces now being seen in Washington and elsewhere. Among the members of this coalition will be...George Soros..." (Rudy Giuliani, Remarks to the Kennedy School of Government, 10/10/96)

The Republican Party leadership opposed Buchanan’s platform on issues like immigration and rallied behind Senator Bob Dole for the nomination.

No, the Republican party (as a whole) opposed Buchanan because he appeared to be a nut, an observation later shown to be entirely accurate.

The article also fails to label Mr. Buchanan as a former Republican.

In before the Mittwits, Trudy apologists, and the 'He said it first' Donut crowd.

The acronym would be way too long.

Just to add a bit more. At Orlando, Fred pointed out some of the stances Rudy has had on a number of issues. Rudy didn't answer them, as usual, and his first instinct, remember this as it will be his way of campaigning, was to attack Fred on tort reform. Rudy didn't answer the question, and will never answer.

Exposing Rudy at every turn is the best way to wake up the electorate and the conservatives. Watch what Fred does to Hillary when the time comes.

Fred is also making his line in the sand on immigration. Now all we'll hear from the rest of the field is ..."Me too!!!"

I love Fred and will vote for him in my state’s primary. But as of now, I see a Giuliani tsunami coming - even if Fred happens to eke it out in South Carolina (Romney is going to win NH and IA but not get the bounce he hopes for).

Problem is, we are entering the holiday season and no one is going to follow politics again until after Feb. 5.

Giuliani is riding HIGH in the polls and in some states is gaining ground, incredibly.

This is sort of sad, to say the least, b/c I think Hillary is beatable (though not without much work). I think we should nominate Fred or someone else. But Giuliani has pretty well sewn this thing up, and will win in Nov. 08.

I’d love to hear from someone who can offer a reasonable explanation as to why that is wrong...would love to see some hope here, but Giuliani looks to be cruising to a swift victory.

Could some of that still be name recognition? Many people didn't watch the debates and don't follow online. No ads on TV in my neck of the woods. My 77 yr old mom reads the paper and watches local news, etc. Yet at this point, she'd probably say Rudy because that would be the only familiar name.

We could turn it into the world's largest golf resort. That'd be a win-win.

I didn't just type that, did I?

Florida is going to be key. Fred’s behind, but he has some key Florida Republicans behind him. If Fred takes Florida instead of Rudy, things are going to look awfully different come Super Tuesday.

Could well be. But I think we are starting to run very short on time, what with the holidays and all. Moving the primaries earlier and earlier helps those candidates with name recognition.

I suppose if Fred pulls off FL, he will have some life. But do you think if Rudy hangs on in Giuliani, then he isbasically in the pole position going into Feb. 5? In other words, do you think if Rudy takes FL, then he is the nominee?
