This will probably be factored in at his trial.Or would be, if he were still alive...

Welcome to FR, sorry you came here for such a sad reason.
There seem to be a lot of rumors - I’ve heard there was another police officer killed ..then heard he was slightly injured but not dead.. Also heard that after leaving the house where he shooting happened- he roamed around the town shooting at the officers who were trying to get him in custody. FOX news reported earlier that witnesses heard up to 30 shots being fired after he left the house..
Maybe it makes more sense to you since you live there- but is there a reason why law enforcement has kept so much under wraps- for so many hours? They seem to be enforcing a news blackout.
My prayers are with your town.

That has more, newer detail. Maybe worth a thread of it’s own?
I note that the spin machine has started, the photo caption describes him as “a law enforcement employee”...

Of course it turned out to be a part time Cop that killed those people. But, according to the Brady Bunch, and the other grabber groups, only the police and military can be trusted to have guns. The MSM is of course reporting 7 dead, which includes the killer, but it's still "7 dead from gun violence".

Of course it turned out to be a part time Cop that killed those people.Nope. He was a FULL time cop in Forest Co. He was also a part time (moonlighting) cop in Crandon.

Hell be gently taken into custody and then the cops can do no evil crowd will have months before his trial to think of millions of reasons why society pushed this honorable man over the edge. Of course by now you know your slap at police in general is completely wrong. A police sniper shot him, dead. Saved the state a whole bunch of money too.

Well, I just turned on the computer and saw this and succumbed to the temptation to get involved before I read through all the replies.
Prayers for all involved.

may preserve an unpolluted jury pool. Good luck with thatThat many victims in a town that tiny? They would never been able to empanel a local jury. Thakfully this is now a moot point.

Why do cops even need guns, if everybody else is already disarmed? ... (Wisconsin has no concealed carry law, I understand True, but that law doesn't affect long guns, nor possession of handguns. The people in general are hardly disarmed of effective weapons.
Even if they did have concealed carry, it probably wouldn't have helped. Almost all CHL laws restrict it to people no younger than 21, and all the victims, and the killer, were under 21 in this case.
You also have a point though, they were in effect disarmed, because no one takes their Mini-14 or "Serious Social Purposes" Rem 870 to a party, except maybe on an "out the vehicle" basis. If the party goers had any access to firearms, it would have had to have been those owned by the hosts.
