my father in law served on the murmansk run and was sunk once-he did receive veterans status many years later-and he deserved it-he wasn’t even a us citizen at the time-he was a legal immigrant from honduras-his brother served 27 years in the us army,retiring as a master sergeant-immigrants were different back then

Gad, Sergeant Major Leander Perez no doubt ~ I knew that guy ~ must have been 4'6" high but he could tower over you ~ including Bluney, the tall Sicilian guy from Brooklyn who wanted to keep carrying the same piece he used in the Hood.

This is a small world.

Or, maybe Sgt Gittens ~ he was from somewhere down there ~ filled out the uniform ~ made it look good.

There are people born for the military world.
