Freepers,
Just learned that an acquaintance of mine was killed while serving with the US Army in Iraq. Here's the DoD release:
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Robert T. Ayres III, 23, of Los Angeles, died Sept. 29 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.
Please pray for SGT Ayres' soul, and for the peace and healing of his family and friends. Thank you.
Prayers lifted.
Salute.
Prayers up! Godspeed, soldier.
May the Sergeant rest in peace. Prayers for his family.
God bless Sgt. Robert T. Ayres III....and his family.

So young, to have given all he can ever give for his country.
I’ll raise a toast to his memory.
RIP.
Pray for them all. The 2nd SCR has taken some hard hits over the last few weeks.
My prayers for Sgt Ayres and his family.
Prayers lifted for another soldier who now lives in the Mansions of the Lord.
O Lord, how it grieves us to lose one of our own-—one so young and full of promise. We mourn the loss of this patriot and pray for his soul, that he might be received into Your heavenly kingdom and hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Comfort his family members and all who knew him, and may they feel the prayers of a grateful nation. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, who died so that we may have eternal life. Amen.
Prayers & thanks to Sgt. Robert T. Ayres III & his family.
