It is a horrible truth. I used to work the late shift at a convenience store in a previous life and a Dr. who worked a local psyche ward would come in and talk and he told a story once of a lady who he’d worked with. She was a religious lady and as the story goes was taken to an abortion provider by her husband and forced into going through with an abortion that she did not want. How many boyfriends and husbands threaten to leave if the mother does not put to death her unborn child? I don’t know but as he told it she was one of them.

The poor lady had suffered great torment from hallucinations after that. She would see the devil standing outside her window holding her baby covered in blood. The demon would point at her and call her a murderer while laughing and she would go into bouts of screaming. Not every woman can so easily forget the life she held in her womb.

The mortality rate following abortion is very high with women twice as likely to commit suicide. They also have a high rate of post abortion infection and a greater risk of suffering from infertility when they finally decide they may want a child. Also the number of women who die from complications related to abortion is not tracked well because many die after they go home following the procedure, bleeding to death or suffering from an embolism while alone.

The left does not call for higher standards for abortion clinics and don’t seem to care if a women is intimidated into having an abortion by a gutless honorless man. They are about their politics. Their politics is their God and their faith they reserve for their bureaucracy.

"My daughter was 22, healthy, and alive when she walked into that clinic," Smith said. "She didn't even have a cold. There is no reason for her to be dead."

God works in mysterious ways.

From the just curious Deptartment - I wonder if the decision to have an abortion was a precondition to getting engaged.

I am totally convinced that the devaluation of life through Roe v Wade is the root of evil. Children killing children and parents know nothing? What the hell...just an unwanted pregnancy...it isn’t really a child!

IIRC, from reading it on FR, abortion mills are usually exempt from the typically required standards of medical facilities.

Abortion is not about saving women’s lives!

Studies Find Abortions Have Long-Term Effects

45,951,133

Total Abortions since 1973

------------------------------------------------------------

Why the drop after 1960? (in deaths of women from illegal abortions)

The reasons were new and better antibiotics, better surgery and the establishment of intensive care units in hospitals. This was in the face of a rising population. Between 1967 and 1970 sixteen states legalized abortion. In most it was limited, only for rape, incest and severe fetal handicap (life of mother was legal in all states). There were two big exceptions — California in 1967, and New York in 1970 allowed abortion on demand. Now look at the chart carefully.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Abortion Statistics - Decision to Have an Abortion (U.S.)

· 25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing

· 21.3% of women cannot afford a baby

· 14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child

· 12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy)

· 10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career

· 7.9% of women want no (more) children

· 3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health

2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So how many women’s lives have been saved by abortion?

Only about 3% of abortions since 1972 were reported to be “due to a risk to maternal health.” A reasonable person would recognize that not all of those cases represent a lethal risk. But let’s say they did. That means that nearly 45 million fetuses were butchered to save the lives of about 1.3 million women. Or put another way; 35 babies are killed to save each woman.

Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.

Perhaps this is just nit-picking but please don't take this personally: I rue the day when the words "tragic" and "tragedy" jumped out of the Literary Criticism textbook and smuggled itself into our daily vocabulary --- especially when speaking about crimes.

The 9/11 killings, the shootings at Virginia Tech, a million and a half abortions a year, including the one that destroyed this unfortunate 22-year-old woman and her child: these are not "tragedies," these are murders.

I realize words are ambiguous, but "tragedy" in common usage generally means "something that turns out bad and makes us sad." No responsibility implied. The tornado killed two children in the trailer park. Tragedy. The abortionist killed both mother and child. Murder.

I wonder if the abortion was incomplete at the time of the mother’s death.

If so, and if the baby died subsequently to the mother’s death, couldn’t their killer be charged with a double murder?

Good points! You remind me of an English teacher, it wasn’t until years later that I realized I actually learned something from her and then we became close friends for about five years before she died.

“The details of Laura’s death on the abortion table sickened and horrified Smith, who says she must keep them confidential until she takes legal action against Osathanondh for killing her daughter.”

Huh???? Keeo them confidential?
