Background aside, GOP women still really like Rudy Giuliani
LA Times ^ | 30 September 2007 | Scott Martelle, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

Rudolph W. Giuliani is married to his third wife, his kids barely talk to him and he's comfortable with leaving intact the national policy permitting abortion.

Oh -- and he's the former mayor of New York City, a modern Gomorrah to many here at the biennial conference of the National Federation of Republican Women.

You'd think that Giuliani would get little more than a polite round of applause from the mostly conservative crowd of 2,000 women. But as the only Republican presidential candidate to travel to the desert this weekend to address the group, Giuliani scored some solid points with -- and a few standing ovations from -- a key constituency, the women activists within his own party.

"We're the worker bees," said Cathy Philips, a delegate from Lakeland, Fla., after Giuliani spoke She added that many attendees were disappointed that other Republican contenders skipped the conference of the group, a 100,000-member grass-roots organization that dates to 1938. "I heard some women say last night they felt offended, almost, that all the others didn't see fit to come."

...But a Gallup Poll released Friday shows a radical shift in the landscape, with Giuliani enjoying slightly more support among women than men, 34% to 31%. Thompson still faced a gender gap, getting support from 25% of men but 16% of women -- something convention-goers suggested was rooted in personal reactions to Thompson's second wife, Jeri. She is more than two decades younger than Thompson and she has shocked some conservative sensibilities by wearing outfits with plunging necklines.

Well, both Giuiliani and Thompson like women. They have proved it over and over again.

It is so pathitc that these Rudy haters use the fact that he can clown around as a tool to slander him....

Fredddy has done some things in his life and betrayed us in the senate hearings kissing John Glenn's ass at every turn, but you won't hear about that because freedy can't beat the beast, so we LOVE him....he's just a "no threat to the beast" kinda candidate and that's what many freepers want, Fred "I can't beat her" thompson, almost a democrat by his actions...

Heh. If, by some huge misfortune, he should be nominated, that photo will be on every wall at the DNC and it's offices at the NYT, WaPo, LA times, and the Globe.

Rudy cannot win period. In fact, the GOP will lose in a landslide with him as their gayboy poster child.

Is this just "clowning around" in the gay pride parade, as well?

And FYI, I do not "hate" him. - I just will not VOTE for him.

I can think of nothing the demorats would like more than to see this clown as the GOP nominee.

Yes, Rudy has a sense of humor. This is sadly lacking in some of the posters. A person without a sense of humor is always in danger of taking himself so seriously that he lacks the common sense to see the error in his thinking.

My neighbor has the rainbow flag waving on his front porch. The funny thing is that he is a closet Reprblican!

HA HA HA, I love it....
We have a neighbor that flies her rainbow flag,
just because she likes rainbows.

We told her about the hidden meaning, and she blushed
and gave the old Seinfeld answer, “Not that there's anything wrong with that”

Gotta love dolts...LOL

Truly bizarre that it is hip and makes one electable to fawn over methodology of whom one lies with. What a bunch of 60’s generation losers our leaders represent.

Well DUH!

Of course Rooty would have a lead with women - he's one of them.

Rudy Giuliani's so-called "sense of humor" would be easy to overlook except for one very disturbing aspect of it . . .

Have you ever seen any evidence of this sense of humor and his clowning around that didn't involve these bizarre photos?

You can’t be serious! Do you really believe Rudy Giuliani is a homosexual? If so, there is no rational way to approach a discussion with you on this subject.

women are more likely to be RINOs than men.

ALL the guiliani supporters I have seen at my local republican club are women who are anti-religion.

Rudy is no homo. He is a serial adulterer who treats women like dirt once he is through using them.

He is Bubba with a (R) after his name.
