If you’re elected - we’ll hold you to that.

I love Fred, but is he mis-speaking here? Does a U.S. president have the authority to bar a head of state from a member nation coming to the UN?

Fred must have been reading FR to come up with a statement like that.

If I were President of the United States none of this would have been an issue--I wouldn't have let him into the country in the first place.

Yah know, Fred, it ain't up to you. According to a treaty we signed when they planted the UN in New York we have to let him in. And according to the same treaty, the UN headquarters stays in New York unless they decide to move it. So if you really want to be president I suggest you brush up on the law a little bit before you make promises you can't keep.

A little behind the news/talk cycle, Senator - but the campaign is young.

I’m glad he’s in. Even the most politically indifferent will notice the GOP. Hopefully he’ll bring more folks to the process.

And he’s right about Nutjob.

If you are elected Fred, we will hold you to it, and here's kudos to you, for you would have to stay your course in the face of overwhelmingly treasonous liberal diatribe, that will traduce you and your family from all sides possible.

May God grant you the strength to stay your course on Islamofascism, the greatest threat to civilization since European fascism, greater than the Russians or Chinese would ever be, if Iran obtains strategic nuclear weapons.

Every one else with strength has folded, may you become America's King Arthur, and may you gather and keep a loyal contingent of round table warriors.

“The prospect of Mr. Ahmadinejad visiting the city recalled the famous reaction of Theodore Roosevelt to the visit of a German anti-Semite to the city back in the days when Roosevelt was police commissioner. In his autobiography, published in 1913, Roosevelt wrote about how he assigned to the anti-Semite an all-Jewish security detail.

“The proper thing to do was to make him ridiculous,” Roosevelt wrote. “It was the most effective possible answer; and incidentally it was an object lesson to our people, whose greatest need is to learn that there must be no division by class hatred...”

We’re about to sign on to that LOST/UNCLOS treaty. Maybe we should stipulate that the UN, now that it rules the sea, should meet on a ship.
