Council on Foreign Relations One World Conspiracy or New World Think Tank?
Great American Journal ^ | 9/16/07 | JB Williams

Posted on 09/16/2007 6:56:02 PM PDT by msnpatriot

Since the U.S. Federal government has become increasingly independent minded, often openly acting directly at odds with the will of the people they are sworn to represent, American voters are becoming increasingly interested in finding out exactly who their government is taking orders from, since it clearly isn’t them.

Have always wondered about the true influence of the CFR and other organizations to U.S. policy and elections, including immigration issue. Freeper opinions welcomed.

You do love your conspiracies.

About 6 months ago I was talking to a friend from my military days (he was French army intelligence), he explained to me that all the Republican candidates are CFR and that if one admits it, it is only because he is a moderate.
My Friend explained to me that the other candidates that do not admit it, are actually true believers that are the real powers to be within the organization and that are the ones to stop.

I always imagined the CFR as a swanky hotel or conference room filled with a bunch of old farts discussing the policies of different countries in order to acertain where would be a good place to do business or court leaders in the future.

God knows there is no shortage of conspiracies, and there are bound to be a couple that end up being true.

It’s fun to think about, and I would prefer our leaders to be more open about who their friends are and what they discuss, but I’m not going to obsess over it...

Someone I know swears the CFR wants to start a total nuclear exchange so that all mankind will be wiped out and Satan can “dance a hornpipe on the Temple Mount.”

“Anybody know who started the CFR? And when? And for what purpose?”

http://www.cfr.org/about/history/cfr/

Of course that’s THEIR official history.

Here’s an interesting page: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Council_on_Foreign_Relations

“Carroll Quigley, Professor of History at Georgetown University, stated, “The Council of Foreign Relations is the American Branch of a society which originated in England and believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established.”

A word from Carroll Quigley, Bill Clintons old mentor.

Knowing several people who are members of the CFR, I laugh whenever I read conspiracies. Most of those who create the conspiracies have no idea what the CFR does, they simply pick and choose position research papers and try to make it proof of some sort of conspiracy.

Let me give you an example of what the CFR does and how it works.

Let’s say you are an adviser to Joe Senator from Bluevania, and you are tasked with researching some commerce options about chicken feathers. Instead of spending months on end researching all the laws, bylaws, and developing scenarios of what may happen based on different options, you go to the CFR and they do this research for you. The CFR gives you several position papers based on what they calculate the results will be based on your various positions. Those papers are often signed off or recommended by well respected members as to which will produce the result you are looking for. The CFR has only as much influence in that they provide research on a position and possible outcomes.

So who are the CFR members? Anyone who possibly would be involved in international commerce, law, or defense is a member of the CFR. You will be hard pressed to find any lawyer, politician, or lobbyist in DC who isn’t a member because they use the CFR for research the way we use WalMart for groceries. Members not only hire out the CFR but they also take part in presenting studies and research.

Let’s use a real life example everyone talks about, the infamous NAU document. What most people don’t realize, or never take a few minutes to research, is that the CFR has produced several position document on the NAU, from the one that is posted here, to others that recommend completely closed borders and commerce, to several that take the middle road, some with limited trade recommendations, others with examples of how to update NORAD for a common defense improvement.

This is why it is easy for people who want to, to paint CFR as a conspiracy. Based on the amount of research and position papers in their archives, you pretty much can prove the CFR is up to anything because they have papers on almost everything, covering all sides...

The CFR is just the archetype conspiratorial bogeyman, one that has been around for centuries. The story stays the same, only the names of the players change as one ‘conspiracy’ never happens and those who believe in them need a new conspiracy.

My inside source confirms that.

Conspiracy stories are sometimes wild exaggerations devised to cover up real wrongdoing. Money from international slavery is not preferable to our Nation’s future defense.

the last members list I looked at was more Dems than GOP

lefty professors were touting the CFR, Bilderbergers and Tri-Lats as the powers behind the throne back in the mid 70s when I was in college

funny how it comes around again but more from the libertarian right this time

you know, even actors and actresses are CFR....I don’t think it means too much period

just persuing the list, I know most aren’t my cip of tea

cultural relativists

The CFR was always billed as nonpartisan in the old fashioned sense. These days, there are probably enough people on its rosters for libeals and conservatives to hate.

I thought I had read recently that Angelina Jolie is a CFRer?

Is this true?

If so, this proves conclusively that the CFR is extremely dangerous to the republic!
