Bad timing for Kerrey. Hsu's connection with him may prevent him fron running for the senate.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the New School, which has a liberal tradition and a reputation for left-leaning faculty and a former political official as president, has a board sprinkled with politically active trustees.

Take out the name New School and insert any Ivy League school.

This could make Kerry not run, if the story has any legs.

Yeah, but how are we going to keep this story alive and growing for a year?

perfect timing, wouldn’t you say ? Hagel says he’s not running, Kerrey wants back in the Senate, and Hsu leaves egg foo yong on Kerrey’s face.

It all gets curiouser and curiouser. Every one of the New School's board members except Hsu has a prominent position with one or more businesses and is highly compensated in that position, giving him or her the financial wherewithal, reputation, and group of prosperous friends necessary to serve on that board. The brief vetting the MSM has done of HSU in the last few days has shown him to be a bankrupt grifter and fugitive from justice. Normally people who are as prominent as Kerry and Schwartz know, through the "old boy network," if nothing else, where potential board members come from and who they are. Any reasonable vetting would have shown Hsu to be poison, unless a number of people on that board, particularly Bernie Schwartz, knew exactly who Hsu actually was and deliberately put him on the board to give him respectability and cover. Given Schwartz's and the Clintons' close prior relationship with the Chicoms, that's probably what happened, meaning the Clintons and the DemonRat party knew exactly who Hsu was and what his job for the Chicom government was.

FWIW, Here's a .pdf of the annual report from the New School for '05/06.

Hsu's mentioned about a half dozen times. He's listed as a trustee, but most of the mentions are for gifts to the school.

I wonder if Kerrey will see that the school returns the money.

From wikipedia:

The New School for Social Research continues the Graduate Faculty's tradition of synthesizing progressive American intellectual thought and critical European philosophy. True to its origin and its firm roots within the University in Exile, The New School for Social Research, particularly its Department of Philosophy, is one of very few in the United States to offer students thorough training in the modern continental European philosophical tradition known as "Continental philosophy." Thus, it stresses the teachings of Aristotle, Locke, Hume, Kant, Hegel, Kierkegaard, Marx, Nietzsche, Husserl, Heidegger, Freud, Benjamin, Wittgenstein, Foucault, Derrida, Deleuze, et al. [1] The thought of the Critical Theory of the Frankfurt School of Max Horkheimer, Walter Benjamin, Theodor Adorno, Herbert Marcuse, Jürgen Habermas, et al. holds an especially strong influence on all divisions of the school.

In other words, the primary mission of this school is to push the hard-left Critical Theory and other forms of Cultural Marxism. Wasn't Bob Kerrey supposed to be a 'moderate' Democrat?
