At the beginning of the war, establishing a Middle East “beachhead” in Iraq was one of the most talked-about goals. Just look at a map and Iraq’s strategic placement becomes abundantly obvious. But, since that aim doesn’t mesh with the Lib-MSM “Bush lied!” mantra, it’s been conveniently shoved down the memory hole.
