William Leap, an anthropology professor at American University, said his research indicates that up to half of those who engage in male bathroom sex would consider themselves heterosexual.

Whatever the truth is, we have a justice system which was this week overridden by the drive by media and its court of public opinion. There the accused has no rights at all.

I believe this has been discussed on some of the other Craig-related threads (where I remember reading it) ... but there are several elements to the theory. One is that the guy is in denial of his gay/bi tendencies and refuses to identify himself as gay/bi.
Another is the "men who have sex with other men" belief - the guy needs sexual contact/release and the easiest way to getting it happens to be with another man (as opposed to seeking out a prostitute or going to a bar to pick up a woman). In that sense the guy isn't "gay" because he's not really attracted to other men, he just uses men to fulfill his sexual "needs".
I really don't care that much about the apologistic psychological/anthropoligical factors here ... people who seek out sex in public areas (including airport restrooms) are criminals and need to be treated as such.
