I met a surgeon in my training who would intentionally sew the prison tattoo ( belly tattoo of “Folsom” or “Vacaville” etc) off center to mess them up when he operated on them.
I had a buddy who was working in an in a trauma unit who did the same thing to a gang member with a gunshot wound. An incision went right through the middle of a big tattoo, so the tattoo got stapled up crooked.
Not very ethical. Gross abuse of power and apparent medical malpractice in my opinion. What a jerk.
