That’s one of the things I’ve noticed about FDT and DH.
Fred Thompson, although he can be on-spot a lot, tends to look very tired. I’ve heard several of his speeches and interviews: he sounds more humdrum than not. And although they drop off after the first several minutes, there’s WAY too many ‘uhs’.
Duncan Hunter, on the other hand, strikes me - as time has gone by - as the following: fluid. His speaking style has become VERY fluid. Couple that with his seemingly boundless energy.
It’s like night and day, comparing the Thompson’s VFW speech and Hunter’s Ames speech.

..I believe the dynamic that we are witnessing is the expression of words and great ideas spoken from clear conviction and founded on high principles, compared to the usual establishment party rhetoric from a candidate who really doesn’t want to do what his backers are pushing him to do IMO...

It’s not just Fred either. Mitt talks a good game, but it is mostly nonsense. Rudy hems and haws and sounds as effeminate as his politics are, and Mccain is just a stiff. Huckabee gives a good speech, but he’s a fraud. I heard him on CSPAN the other day. Good speech, but he is trying to steal Hunter’s issues. Why vote for a tax raising, mush moderate when you can get the real conservative original?

With hunting season getting into swing, what are ways that Duncan Hunter could get his name into the mix as the pro-gun, pro-hunting, pro-manliness, pro-American candidate.

I shall ponder that. But indeed it is right up his alley.
