Here’s a bit of irony for this situation: the folks who originally settled in India were known as “Aryans”.
In the 1936 ‘Nazi’ Olympics, India had defeated Germany in the hockey finals, 8-1, but there was no controversy supposedly because the Third Reich considered Indians ‘Indo-Aryans.’
