If you listen to folks who oppose immigration and border enforcement, you get the feeling they think we put locks on our doors to keep everybody out. The truth is we have locks so we can choose who comes in.
An example of what happens when we dont make the choice took place August 4th when three Newark, New Jersey, college students with great promise were executed, gangland style. The killers ringleader was apparently an illegal alien indicted twice in 2007 for felonies, including the rape of a kindergarten-aged girl.
Why would such a person be set free instead of being handed over to authorities for deportation? The answer is that Newark is a sanctuary city which bans cooperation between local officials and federal immigration officials. More than 60 sanctuary zones, including 30 of Americas largest cities, provide a national networked haven for foreign and organized criminals who recruit and operate outside those areas as well. These sanctuaries include Cambridge, Massachusetts; Los Angeles, California; Detroit, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; Austin and Houston, Texas; Denver, Colorado; and New York City.
The consequences of sanctuary cities may be most obvious in the city that became the first in 1979 Los Angeles. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, a confidential California Department of Justice study from the mid-1990s showed then that at least 60 percent of the members of L.A.s most violent gangs, with membership in the tens of thousands, were illegal aliens. Of all outstanding murder warrants in Los Angeles, 95 percent are for illegal aliens. Frustrated police say they are powerless to pick up even well-known, previously deported felons.

Fred bump!
Are you being sarcastic? As I recall you don’t much care for Fred...
I was getting a little worried, but this essay means he's coming out swinging.
Very Reaganesque.
At a minimum, he would clean up the sanctuary city....gang/crime-wise. And the ones that are peaceful will be registered and documented as alien-residents...with hopefully assorted ways they could become citizens.
We get the best of both worlds.
I'm not buying this. Police seem to find a reason if they want to. This is a CYA statement, in my opinion.
Also Houston is big time. We just can’t seem to get mayors that aren’t special interests and in it for the money.
Fred, they are NOT like the rest of us. We are NOT trying to "get by" by using the taxpayers of another country (to which we have no loyalty).
Your essay is needed and well done. But toward the end, it seemed as though you were trying to draw a line in the sand between peaceful illegals and those who are violent. Fred, they are ALL criminals, and they are ALL hurting us. Especially here in SoCal where you and I reside.
Dont forget New Haven Ct.
Houston was mentioned in the article.
Tsk...tsk...you didn’t read!
;-)
Fred has made a real gaf in his posting. ALL illegal aliens
ARE criminals because they are here illegally and are committing further felonies in getting jobs and other services with felonious ID efforts/actions. SO FRED, get the real picture - ALL illegal aliens are felons, period.
This is MY wish.
You get to see cities rejuvenate ala NYC under Rudy, and I get to see our economy not tank.
Cheers!
You are fun, even if you do support, who you support....LOL
Have a Great Day......
How can we hope to have cheap lettuce and thin the population of minority college students if we don’t have illegals here to blow their brains out in the middle of the night (see Jose’ Cazzana...murders of those three college students)? Moreover, who will rape our five year-old girls if we don’t have illegals here to do the raping Americans won’t do?
No, the prosperity of our economy requires that we push black aside for employment by letting illegals undercut wages and steal jobs from them. Heck, there are only a couple dozen American citizens being killed by illegals every day...so back off. Its more important to have cheap lettuce than to keep our kids safe in their own neighborhoods.
(Sarcasm pen rests...)
Tsk Tsk to you. LOL
I read it. Just wanted to point out the sorry lot of mayors we have had.
Fred lives in VA.
Well Said!
The man is correct, lets start enforcing the laws of the land already written.
I expect after Fred announces, we will hear more solutions offered. Right now he’s letting us know what he thinks about what he sees:)
Why just above, there’s posters spitting up! LOL!
