I might get together a group of people to buy an old box truck, get some artwork made, fill it with pro-life literature and park it across from an abortuary.

I am against abortion.
I am horrified by it altogether.
I teach my children the horrors of it.
But that’s the thing, I teach them. I find these trucks to be offensive when they go where children can see them. My nephew was horribly traumatized by one of these at the beach. It wasn’t fair.
They give Pro-Life people a bad name.
Flame away.

Its easy to deny the unseen and unheard their rights and kill them. How dare they put a picture of a human baby with the term of fetus, blastocyst, women’s right, reproductive right, etc. People are much more comfortable deceiving themselves into believing its simply part of a woman’s body or that they’re saving a child from being unwanted than they are killing a defenseless little boy or girl.

The Calgary Sun headlined today's article, "Graphic abortion images shock Calgarians" Excellent!
"If there is nothing wrong with abortion, the images shouldn't bother them," she said.
The pro-death crowd can't double-talk its way out of this. Their only defense is the usual media blackout.

We had some of these trucks in Sioux Falls during the last election cycle....they were followed all over town and forced by police to move whenever they stopped in a parking lot anywhere. There were at least 2 of them...older pick-ups with campers on that had the sides plastered with pictures and slogans.
While I know it got attention, there is one part of it that concerns me. Seeing gory graphic pictures of aborted babies may open the eyes of some people but what it does that is harmful is increases the pain, shame and guilt of those who are post-abortive. It forces them that much further away from the saving grace and healing they need. It also hurts those of us who have lost babies to still births, miscarriage or other ways... I am not sure that the gore of it needs to be part of the message. The message can still be conveyed without the gore of it all, and without the increased hurt to others.

I'm always amazed at how many people are shocked and appalled that someone would drive around in a truck with images like that plastered on it. Those same people are almost never similarly appalled by the fact that the action that produced that horrifying image is perfectly legal.
I reckon I'll only have to scan down this thread a few posts before I find one...

Would you be as supportive if some liberal anti-war group pasted huge photos of dead and injured troops on the side of trucks and drove around school yards proclaiming to kids they shouldn’t go be soldiers?

If someone wants to have an abortion, they really ought to be fully informed as to what is involved. Libs aren’t the only ones who get to voice their opinions.

Looks like they were shocked, but being from a more conservative part of Canada, were also pragmatic about the whole thing. Good news! Onward to Edmonton.
"In those circumstances there's no opportunity for meaningful discussion or debate."
Laura's side doesn't like the images because they show that there is no debate. Her side depends on sophistry, whereas a photograph depicts reality.

Laura Wershler, criticised the tactic saying, "In those circumstances there's no opportunity for meaningful discussion or debate."Certainly many exposed to the image will likely discuss or debate related issues. Does she mean such discussion and debate would not meaningful? Why? Perhaps because she is not in control of it?
