Roger Ailes and Rudolph W. Giuliani have been pulling for each other for nearly two decades.
Mr. Ailes was the media consultant to Mr. Giulianis first mayoral campaign in 1989. Mr. Giuliani, as mayor, officiated at Mr. Ailess wedding and intervened on his behalf when Mr. Ailess company, Fox News Channel, was blocked from securing a cable station in the city.
This year, they were tablemates at the White House correspondents dinner, which Mr. Giuliani attended as a guest of Foxs parent company, the News Corporation.
Now these allies and friends find themselves on largely uncharted political turf. Mr. Giuliani, 63, is a leading Republican candidate for president. Mr. Ailes, 67, is head of Fox News, the pre-eminent media outlet for likely voters in a Republican primary.
Whether their friendship would ever affect coverage Fox insists that it has not and will not it is nonetheless the sort of relationship that other campaigns have noted, though none wanted to speak publicly for fear of offending the station.
So far this year, one political journal found, Mr. Giuliani has logged more time on Fox interview programs than any other candidate. Most of the time has been spent with Sean Hannity, an acknowledged admirer of the former mayor, according to the data compiled by the journal, known as The Hotline.
Fox executives say Mr. Giulianis appearances have been driven by his news value and by his status as a front-runner, not by his relationship with Mr. Ailes.
I cant remember his ever saying anything, one way or the other, about our coverage of the Giuliani campaign, Brit Hume, the anchor who coordinates much of Foxs political coverage, said of Mr. Ailes. And I am under no injunctions, restrictions, encouragements or directions of any kind as to how that campaign should

Fox is simply fair. Rudy, to the MSM, is the only guy who can beat their pair. They know it. In order to win, the GOP must decide if they want to win or if they want to get slaughtered in the general election. Of course, issues such as Rudy’s wife, dresses, will outweigh serious consideration of tax cuts, conservjurists, and winning the generational war against Islamofascism.

According to the latest WSJ poll, Bloomberg beats RG in NY and takes votes from RG not Billary. If it looks like RG is going to get the top GOP slot, be assured that Bloomberg will get in the race.
Clinton Widens Poll Lead By Using Experience Card
"In a three-way contest among Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Giuliani and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg running as an independent, the poll shows Mrs. Clinton winning with 42% of the vote to Mr. Giuliani's 34% and Mr. Bloomberg's 11%. That suggests Mr. Bloomberg -- who hasn't declared his candidacy -- would steal more support from the Republican than from the Democrat".
Humor me for just one moment.. The GOP nominee has got to be able to GOTV (get out the vote). It cannot be someone who turns off the base and or seems much like the DNC nominee (yes RG is better on economic issues than Billary, but it is not good enough). RG floats all DNC and liberal boats in the general. First, he would be a dream come true, he is a big squish on social issues ERGO ok if he wins to DEMS (as if dems are going to vote for a RINO when they can get the REAL thing in Billary). Second, he is STILL a dream come true to the DEMS, he suppresses the GOP turnout and vote ERGO he loses... Either way he is perfect for the DEMS.
We keep hearing from RG supporters that FRers are mean to Rudy. Does anyone really think that the DEMS are not going to use the youtube RUDY in DRAG stuff again and again and again and again????

The roundtable used to be the best analysis segment on television, not anymore. Depends on the topic. But yeah, Presidential politics isn't their strong suit.
