Chertoff told the Houston Chronicle the federal government "can't rule out" using powers of eminent domain to seize land for the wall that is intended to stem the flow of illegal immigrants entering the United States from Mexico. A US Border should have something similar as a US Highway has, right-of-way, which in the case of a highway extends 200' from the centerline. I would think a US Border would have even more, for just this kind of thing. Also, I never did hear about congress appropriating money for this. When did that happen?

If some guy on the border doesn’t want a fence on his land, then lets just build it around his land. Hell, let him secede and join mexico if he wants.
