You are very right. However, we are to be as a watchman on the wall. LOOKING and waiting. What would have been the purpose of God giving us a detailed description of the signs if not to know and understand them. If more Jews had studied and understood the prophecies of the Old Testament, more of them would have recognized Jesus as the Messiah.

Jesus himself said that we would know the season of His return. I am not by any means a date setter, but some day it WILL happen. And I know one thing for SURE; we are closer today then we were yesterday!

This in no way is directed at you. I don’t know your thoughts, nor pretend to. That being said, in my opinion, MANY Christians quote, “No one knows the hour or the day...” because rather then study the Word and face possibly some conviction, fear, or whatever, when they read about the coming wrath of God, that verse comforts them and lets them move on and get back to the next sitcom or reality show. I think it is a cop out by so many. I have found that more then anything, studying prophecy brings me into a right relationship with the Lord, and spurs me on to share the gospel with others, far and above “date setting”.

Yes, that’s true, we don’t know the day or time that Jesus comes back, but that doesn’t mean we are supposed to be playing stupid either, we are still supposed to be looking for signs. If this does happen, it doesn’t mean the Jesus is coming back on that day. I believe it’s true that believers will meet him in the clouds, but you might see more then you bargined for before that day happens. I personally think people throw out that line, “You don’t know the day or time,” because they are being in denial and they don’t want to face things that all Christians should be willing to not only face but to confront when the time is right.
